There's being a competitive person, and then there's being on a reality show. They are two VERY different things. In real life, being competitive often involves years of hard work, whereas on a reality show, it mostly involves tearful confessions and saying, "I'm not here to make friends; I'm here to win!." Sure, it might be ridiculous, but it's also ridicuously fun to watch.
