CBS has picked up 5 additional episodes of Monday-night, Jenna Elfman comedy, Accidentally on Purpose . Though the series is the lowest performer in the network's Monday night comedy block (also consisting of How I Met Your Mother , Two and a Half Men and The Big Bang Theory ) - it has been holding its own in the ratings. From The Hollywood Reporter: "Though "Accidentally" has been the lowest-rated performer of the lineup, it has improved on retaining its How I Met Your Mother lead-in and on Monday night, hit a season high among total viewers. The less-than-full season order for the show is mainly due to CBS still having episodes of Rules of Engagement for later this season." Source

* Dancing with the Stars (8/7c ABC) The show enters its ninth season with its largest cast ever: 16 celebrities! This season will feature some new dances and several double eliminations. Some pros who haven't competed on the show recently are back, including Louis van Amstel and Anna Trebunskaya. As for the dancing novices, this year's big crop of diverse stars includes Donny Osmond, Kelly Osbourne, Melissa Joan Hart, Michael Irvin, Chuck Liddell and Macy Gray. On this first night of competition, the male celebrities perform. * Heroes (8/7c NBC) The drama is back tonight with a two-hour season premiere kicking off "Volume 5: Redemption." After last season's turmoil, everyone is trying to settle back into normal lives, but it's a goal that's difficult to achieve especially after the arrival of a strange carnival clan made up of people with powerful abilities who set out to become involved with the Heroes. Meanwhile, Claire's college career gets off to a bad start; Angela and Matt fret over the Nathan-Sylar situation; and Peter is called upon by an old friend who needs a favor. * House (8/7c Fox) First, the good news: House is off Vicodin and the pain in his leg is manageable. Of course, he was detoxed to within an inch of his life, and he's a patient in a very forbidding mental hospital as Season 6 begins. "Your issues run deeper than Vicodin," the director (Andre Braugher) tells him. Really? You can bet that these two will clash, and you can also bet that House won't spend the entire season in this hospital. No more spoilers except for this: House launches his hip-hop career. * Accidentally on Purpose (8:30/7:30c CBS) It's difficult to imagine the effervescent and eternally youthful Jenna Elfman as "the older woman," but that's the role she takes on in this sitcom about a newspaper film critic in a relationship with a younger man. Elfman plays Billie, who, in the pilot, has a fling with a younger guy (Jon Foster), gets pregnant, decides to keep the baby and then asks the father to live with her... as friends. Of course, when his friends start invading her home, she wonders if she'll be raising two kids. Further complicating her life is a recently ended - but still healing - relationship with her boss (Grant Show). * CSI: Miami (10/9c CBS) The big question Miami fans want to know is whether Eric Delko (Adam Rodriguez) is alive or dead when he's discovered in the Everglades tonight after being shot in last May's finale. Well, he's alive but will he still be breathing by the end of the eighth-season premiere? The fact that Rodriguez has joined the cast of Ugly Betty doesn't bode well for Delko or that Eddie Cibrian is joining the Miami cast as a new CSI. Another thing fans learn tonight is how Horatio first came to wear his trademark sunglasses. It's part of a flashback sequence that details how the current CSI team first came together in 1997. Jenna Elfman, who plays a pregnant woman on her new CBS series Accidentally on Purpose , announced on Wednesday that she is expecting her second child. "I have a baby in my tummy, but a real one, not just for my TV show," Elfman told Julie Chen on The Early Show. Elfman's character in Purpose is unexpectedly impregnated by a younger man. "My character is pregnant the whole first season, so I said it's a good time to have another baby because we won't have to hide it," said Elfman. Her co-star, Ashley Jensen, is also pregnant in real life, but the producers are hiding her pregnancy on the show. Elfman and her husband, actor Bodhi Elfman, have a 2-year-old son named Story Elias.
