Some recent ratings highlights: * Monday's two-hour premiere of NBC's I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! averaged 6.35 million viewers, edging out The Bachelorette (6.34 mil) in both total audience and the demos. I'm a Celebrity then dropped 14 percent (to 5.5 mil) on Tuesday. * Among finales, Medium wrapped up its NBC run with an audience of 7.38 mil, dipping 370K week-to-week. (This fall: Fridays on CBS!) Ratings: Aw, Hell! Reaper Surges in Send-off - Featured

How Tuesday's fresh fare fared: * 8 pm/ET NBC's Funniest TV Phrases special (6.6 million total viewers) placed a distant second behind an NCIS rerun. Yada, yada, yada.... The penultimate batch of According to Jim came in fourth, averaging 3.7 mil. Reaper wrapped up its second and likely final season with a 430K gain, hitting 2.22 mil. *9 pm Fox's Mental debuted in third place, with 5.8 mil. Because you were about to ask: Although Mental shares 58 percent of The Mentalist 's title, it only managed 47 percent of the CBS drama's repeat audience. You were going to ask, right? ABC's Diamonds mini caught the eye of 3.1 mil, while The CW 's Hitched or Ditched was largely the latter, premiering to a scant 1.46 mil. *10 pm A repeat of the canceled Without a Trace easily topped a not-new SVU and Diamonds with 9.6 mil. TV Tonight (3/31): What's On? What's Off? - Featured

There are some exciting returns tonight as well as some delayed shows and time shifts, so here's the rundown of what's on and what's not for your Tuesday night! What's On: New show premieres include Osbournes: Reloaded after a new American Idol on Fox at 9:20/8:20c, and Cupid starts up on ABC at 10/9c. We also have some midseason returns with 90210 finally returning after its long break for a new episode tonight on The CW - and make note that it's in a new timeslot, 9/8c! Also My Boys returns on TBS at 10:30/9:30c. Airing as usual is American Idol as mentioned, plus The Mentalist , Dancing with the Stars , Reaper , NCIS and Without a Trace . What's Off: According to Jim 's return has been pushed back yet again, only to be replaced by reruns of Better Off Ted on ABC at 8/7c.

TV Tonight (3/24) - What's On? What's Off? - Featured

It's been awhile, so it's time for....another Obama press conference! Don't you all get excited too quickly. As a result, tonight's on-air TV is getting shifted around a little. No new episodes of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit , Without a Trace or According to Jim , which was finally scheduled to return to ABC tonight. Also impacted are Lie to Me and Bones , which will be airing reruns this week due to the fact that American Idol is airing on Wednesday and Thursday instead of in its standard Tuesday slot. Fringe and 90210 also continue their hiatuses, though 90210 returns next week! Still new at the 8PM hour is Reaper over on The CW.

Midseason Mania: Least Exciting Premieres & Returns, Part 2

Superstars of Dance I'm not saying that this show is terrible, but I believe that it represents all that is wrong with NBC. Since they lack ideas (and the $$) to create original fare, they have peppered their Midseason schedule with reality programming, and even that isn't original. Superstars of Dance is merely a hybrid of successful reality shows from other networks - mainly So You Think You Can Dance from Fox and Dancing with the Stars on ABC. I also intensely dislike reality competitions where performers receive completely arbitrary scoring from judges. Howie Do It What do you know...another reality show from NBC, with recycled host Howie Mandel. Is Mandel really that charming? Do we really need to see a second reality program on the same network hosted by him? Do people really still want to see a hidden camera reality show? These questions are all rhetorical. According to Jim This is the sitcom that never dies. ABC cancels quality programming including Pushing Daisies , Eli Stone and Dirty Sexy Money , yet this dreck survives to see an 8th season? Life isn't fair. Hole in the Wall I found the concept of Human Tetris to be funny for about 5 minutes when I was watching it on YouTube with English subtitles (as the original was a Japanese gameshow). But as a weekly TV show in the US returning for a 2nd season? Snore. The City It's time for this MTV franchise to die. I promise you that humanity will benefit. Have we missed some unexciting junk that is a part of Midseason? Is According to Jim in fact your favorite show ever? Share in comments!

By the Numbers: Dancing into the Sunset

I'm wondering where 20.6 million of you television viewers will turn next week now that Dancing with the Stars has concluded its season (learn of the winner here ), easily winning the ratings crown for the night. It probably won't be holiday specials and According to Jim , which will pop up in various DWTS time slots on ABC beginning next week. I'm thinking that CBS will steal a lot of those numbers and add to an already impressive Tuesday showing. CBS's block of programming placed second last evening with: NCIS - 18.2 million viewers The Mentalist - 15.9 million viewers Without a Trace - 10.5 million viewers Fox finished in 3rd with 12.5 and 8.7 million viewers tuning into House and Fringe , respectively. Per usual, NBC finished in 4th with 6.8 million watching The Biggest Loser and a slightly more impressive 8.5 catching Law & Order: Special Victims Unit at 10PM. Sadly for NBC, judging by their painful-looking midseason schedule , it doesn't appear as though they'll be overcoming their ratings slump any time soon. So...DWTS that the show has concluded, where will you spend your Tuesdays (and Mondays and wherever else that thing airs)? Source: TV Decoder
