Plot
A young dock worker Jude (Jim Sturgess) from Liverpool travels to America in the 1960s to find the father he never knew, an American GI. There he falls in love with sheltered American teenager Lucy (Evan Rachel Wood). When her brother Max (Joe Anderson) is drafted to fight in the Vietnam War, they become involved in peace activism. Large portions of the movie consist of musical numbers adapted from songs by the Beatles, especially from their psychedelic period.
