'American Idol': Did Phillip Phillips disrespect Jimmy Iovine?

Did "American Idol" contestant Phillip Phillips disrespect "Idol" mentor and Interscope Records chairman Jimmy Iovine during the Top 8 results show? If he did, Phillips would like you to know that it was all a misunderstanding.During Iovine's critique of Phillips' performance of Genesis's '80s hit "That's All," he mentioned that it was the singer's "worst performance of the entire show," and that he needs to step up his game if he wants to be a contender for the "Idol" title."It's very difficult to push yourself when everyone's telling you you're so great. Right now, what Phillip needs is to be pushed so he can go out and be the best version of himself that he can be. If he stands still, there's a very big possibility that the other contestants will come up and pass him, and that would really be a shame," he says in a pre-taped package.Back onstage, host Ryan Seacrest asks Phillips... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/04/american-idol-did-phillip-phillips-disrespect-jimmy-iovine.html

'American Idol': DeAndre Brackensick's post-'Idol' plans? Prom.

DeAndre Brackensick's "American Idol" journey may have come to an end, but the 17-year-old high school senior has big plans once he finishes his post-"Idol" press tour: prom. The curly-haired teen with the trademark falsetto tells Zap2it after the Top 8 results show that he's tremendously grateful not only for the experience and knowledge gained competing on the show, but also for the boost to his self-confidence."I'm just glad that I finally get to go to a prom that I'm going to actually enjoy," he confesses. "'Idol' brought out me, and I'm so glad 'Idol' did bring out me. Every dance I've ever had I was either a ticket-taker or a coat-taker because I was just so uncomfortable with myself."All together now: AWWWW. (And for the ladies: No, he doesn't have a date yet.)Brackensick says he had to give up quite a bit to be on the show, but he'd do it again in a heartbeat.... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/04/american-idol-deandre-brackensicks-post-idol-plans-prom.html

'American Idol': Kellie Pickler performs 'Where's Tammy Wynette'

Kellie Pickler, a finalist from the fifth season of "American Idol," stopped by Thursday night's (April 5) Top 8 results show to perform her latest single, "Where's Tammy Wynette." The single is a fun throwback to the types of songs Wynette herself was releasing in the 1960s and '70s.We also love the great affection host Ryan Seacrest obviously has for Pickler. He seemed genuinely excited to see her, as did country contestant Skylar Laine, of course. A good time all around. We'll post video as soon as we have it."Where's Tammy Wynette" is the first track on "100 Proof," Pickler's third studio album, which was released January 24. It has been released as a single - so far, the singles are "Tough" and "100 Proof," which drops April 16. What did you think of "Where's Tammy Wynette," "Idol" fans?... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/04/american-idol-kellie-pickler-performs-wheres-tammy-wynette.html
