Nicki Minaj on Joining American Idol 2013: “It’s a Milestone” (VIDEO)

Nicki explained to MTV News what she was most afraid of before joining the show. “Of course I had doubts but I had to realize that my fears of doing the show came a lot from what I thought people would say … I had to really think … a lot of...

'American Idol': Keith Urban having fun, Nicole Kidman will be appearing

During the 2012 Emmy Awards red carpet, "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest was performing one of his million other jobs by hosting interviews and one of the pairs he got to speak with was new "Idol" judge Keith Urban and his wife Nicole Kidman, who is nominated for an Emmy.In talking about how "Idol" is going already, Urban says he's having a good time."I am [enjoying it] and I'm very glad you're there and I'm glad Randy's there, it's a good comfort level," says Urban. Interesting how he's glad Ryan and Randy are there. Surely it's because they are veterans of the process and not, say, because the two judges he doesn't mention by name are not getting along. Heh.Seacrest also asks Nicole if she'll be making any backstage appearances on "Idol" and she says next year -- but don't jump the gun, she doesn't mean next season. She means in 2013, when the live...

Judge Nicki Minaj Was “Inspired” by Which American Idol Star?

Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj American Idol Feud a Good Thing

Ryan Seacrest is out doing some damage control for American Idol .  The host of American Idol appeared on NBC's Today Show where he sought to re-color the rumors of Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj being engaged in a battle of the egos as merely strong opinions. “There are not too many dull moments between the two of them,” Seacrest explained, “but at the end of the day, we all hug and laugh and go home and get ready for another day. They get along fine, but they're strong and candid in their opinion." Well, that's all fine and good, but I want to see me a Diva fight.  Why should we ask and Carey and Minaj, two larger than life personalities, play nice together?  Rumor has it that both of them wanted to be the center of all attention on the American Idol judging panel, and FOX apparently thought neither of them was going to be enough on their own.  It makes sense though, Carey represents old school pop, Nicki is new school.  Regardless of the volatile chemical reactions, these are two great tastes that go great together. On a slightly more cynical note, should we be suspicious that Ryan Seascrest is out doing 'damage' control over the one thing that seems to be stirring the most buzz for American Idol at the moment?  Check out the new gallery pic above, how Seacrest is in-between the two 'divas'?  Could it be that FOX is engineering this so-called feud to keep that buzz alive?  We can only hope it spills over on the air. With X-Factor floundering after a judging panel re-do, I'm sure FOX is going to do all they can to make sure American Idol continues to be the ratings juggernaut it always has been.  Randy Jackson and Keith Urban celebrity boxing match?  That might be going too far.
