More NBC Cancellations: 'Outsourced,' 'Perfect Couples,' 'Chase' & More

The networks are cleaning house in preparation for next week's Upfronts presentations of new shows, cancelling existing shows faster than anyone can keep up. The latest shows to get shut down? NBC has axed freshman Thursday night comedies 'Outsourced' and 'Perfect Couples,' as well as drama 'Chase' and reality series 'School Pride' and 'America's Next Great Restaurant.' While rapid-fire press releases and rumor confirmations have been the norm for getting the news out the past few days, 'Outsourced' star Rizwan Manji actually took to Twitter before news of their cancellation broke: @Riz_Manji: "Before it hits the trades-Outsourced isnt coming back.Sad to see it go-hopeful that this opportunity was a step towards others! It all comes to an end on tonight’s finale of  AMERICA’S NEXT GREAT  RESTAURANT . Last week, I gave you a teaser look at our interview with judge Bobby Flay, and now it’s time for me to share the full interview with you. Daemon’s TV  caught up with Bobby Flay sometime last week at the Hollywood and Highland location of the restaurant in Los Angeles. 'America's Next Great Restaurant': Jamawn Woods' Soul Daddy is the winner

It was between the Brooklyn Meatball Company, Soul Daddy and Spice Coast for the title of "America's Next Great Restaurant" on Sunday, May 1. So who went home with the title and the chance to run a three-location chain of restaurants?That would be Jamawn Woods and his concept Soul Daddy, which specializes in healthy soul food. The investing team -- which is made up of Bobby Flay, Curtis Stone, Steve Ells and Lorena Garcia -- chose Soul Daddy as Spice Coast was pretty similar to Chipotle (Ells' company) and Brooklyn Meatball Company's service was backed up over an hour during the final challenge.The final challenge kind of resembled "Top Chef's" restaurant wars with each contestant developing a soft open for their concept restaurant. The contestants met with arthitects to design the eating space and graphic designers for their logos. TV Ratings: 'Beyond the Blackboard' CBS movie helps secure win on Easter

Fast national ratings for Sunday, April 24, 2011.Easter Sunday signaled a win for CBS, with ratings up slightly across the board from last Sunday. "Beyond the Blackboard," CBS's TV movie starring Emily Van Camp, aired opposite her old stomping ground, "Brothers & Sisters" on CBS. FOX made it a very Homer Easter with two episodes of "The Simpsons" and a re-air of the movie, but they didn't make much of a ratings splash. NBC's "Celebrity Apprentice" was up slightly from last week, but their latest endeavor "America's Next Great Restaurant" hit its series low.CBS had the highest average viewers (9.1 million and a 5.6/10 share). ABC came in second (7.7 million, 4.6/8), NBC in third (6.0 million, 3.6/6) and FOX in fourth (3.1 million, 1.7/3). ABC won the 18-49 demo with a 2.2 rating, followed by NBC (2.0) and CBS (1.7).
