Summary

The man of the hour for The Bachelor: An Officer and a Gentleman (Season 10 of The Bachelor) is Lieutenant Andrew James Baldwin, M.D., USN, better known to his friends, family, bachelorettes, and fans as Andy. Andy is a US Naval Officer, navy diver, doctor, humanitarian, and triathlete currently stationed in Hawaii. He was born February 5, 1977 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania where his parents still reside.

The Bachelor

The tenth season of the show, The Bachelor: Officer and a Gentleman, premiered Monday, April 2, 2007, on the ABC television network. Andy proposed to Tessa Horst on the season finale, which aired May 21, 2007. She happily accepted his proposal after he sent a tearful Bevin Powers home.

ABC subsequently taped an "After the Final Rose" special to air the following night, May 22, 2007, which included a number of bachelorettes who had appeared on the series.

Career

Andy is currently serving his 8-year military commitment as a member of the Navy Medical Corps as the Dive "Doc" for Mobile Diving Salvage Unit One in Pearl Harbor. He resides in Kaneohe, Hawaii. In 2006 Baldwin was asked to serve as group surgeon for a team of 50 military personnel headed to Laos. His role during the mission was to take care of the medical needs of his team and to treat Laotian villagers in need of medical attention. Ultimately, he has said he would like to practice as an orthopedic surgeon.
