Angel Beats! is the latest brainchild of acclaimed writer Jun Maeda, known to anime and game fans for his often poignant scripts, like Clannad and Kanon. While previous works of his have focused on such subjects as family (Clannad), friendship (Little Busters!) and the nature of wishes (Kanon), the theme of Angel Beats! is life.
Which is funny because it takes place in the afterlife, in a high school attended by the souls of the dead, but who knows what will happen from here? We'll find out what's in store in Spring of 2010.
Angel Beats! Summary
Angel Beats! takes place in the afterlife, where a young man with amnesia named Otonashi meets a girl named Yuri, who intends to defy the will of God. For some reason he can't understand, there is still high school in the afterlife, and between the two of them, they clash with an angel who also acts as the student body present.
