4 Clips from ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT: Season 4

Four clips have been released for the fourth season of Arrested Development. Earlier this week, I posted six questions about the upcoming season, and these clips provide some answers. First, the language will still be bleeped, which is a nice touch (although we don’t know if it will be bleeped throughout the season; it’s just bleeped in this instance). Also, there’s a throwback to the confusion regarding bees and beads. READ MORE... ">READ MORE...

'Arrested Development': Track the Bluths' long journey with this timeline

Fans have spent the seven years since FOX canceled "Arrested Development" waiting for the Bluths to return, and in just a couple of days they'll get their wish. Netflix will start streaming all 15 episodes of Season 4 at 12:01 a.m. PT Sunday (May 26). It has been a long, winding road to get to this point. How long and how winding? Very, as you'll see with this timeline of significant events in the life, death and resurrection of "Arrested Development." Summer 2002: Ron Howard pitches an idea to his fellow Imagine Entertainment executives for a comedy series that's tightly scripted but filmed to look like a reality show or documentary. Imagine meets with a couple of writers, one of whom is Mitch Hurwitz, who was coming off "The Ellen Show" at CBS and had also worked on "The Golden Girls" and "The John Larroquette Show."RELATED: Zap2it's "Arrested Development" Rewatch -- catch up with the... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/05/arrested-development-track-the-bluths-long-journey-with-this-timeline.html

The True Origin Stories Behind Six Classic Arrested Development Jokes

Billions of jokes large and small pack the original run of Arrested Development , many of which you can imagine being birthed in a late-night writers-room spitballing session. But some of these gags and story lines seem so random and specific that we sensed there was a fascinatingly weird origin story to them beyond “It was 2 a.m. and we were picking at a pizza …” Indeed, when we called Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz to ask about the gestation of some of our favorite jokes, the stories behind them made them all funnier. So read on for his tales of the inspiration behind the Cornballer, Tobias’s dalliance with the Blue Man Group, Carl Weathers’s cheapness, and more. Please Watch New 'Arrested Development' In Order & Not At Once

Originally, the new episodes of "Arrested Development" were conceived as something of a "Choose Your Own Adventure" series for fans: Creator Mitch Hurwitz said we’d be able to watch the new episodes on Netflix any which way we pleased and in any order. Then, last week, after he wrapped the final mix on all fifteen new episodes, he said, scratch that, never mind, please watch sequentially! And, before the shows go live Sunday at 12:01 a.m., PST, he’s intent on making sure everyone knows he has redacted his earlier strategy. “I’m really doing everything I can to put out that misconception that it can be watched in any order,” Hurwitz told Vulture during an interview Tuesday. “Although I really did have that ambition at one point.” http://feeds.huffingtonpost.com/~r/HP/Entertainment/~3/GB8EdmP8Hps/binge-watch-arrested-development-netflix_n_3320572.html

'Arrested Development': Tony Hale talks Season 4, Liza Minnelli and movie plans

brightcove.createExperiences(); Seven years might have passed between the end of "Arrested Development" Season 3 and the beginning of Season 4, but don't expect any of the show's central characters to have changed dramatically. If Tony Hale is to be believed, his character Buster Bluth has actually regressed in terms of his maturity. "Buster has not matured. I think the first series he was probably around a 7-year-old maturity. I'd say now he's probably at a 5," Hale tells Zap2it in a recent interview. "He's gone back. Well, he's just gotten worse and worse. I think there's just probably years and years of isolation. I mean, going to the pharmacy's a big day for him, so if he can get out of the house, that's a big day." He adds, "He's still got his juice addiction. I think he might have some support groups for his juice addiction that we don't know about. But that's... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/05/arrested-development-tony-hale-talks-season-4-liza-minnelli-and-movie-plans.html

Before They Were The Bluths

The "Arrested Development" cast members had a lot of TV and film credits before they were the dysfunctional Bluth family. Jessica Walter -- matriarch Lucille Bluth on the former Fox, now Netflix series -- has been making TV appearances since the 1960s. She won an Emmy for "Amy Prentiss" in 1975 and in 1977, Walter guest starred in a "Wonder Woman" episode, "The Return of Wonder Woman." 'Arrested Development' Season 4: Portia de Rossi and David Cross on the Chicken Dance and career aspirations

brightcove.createExperiences(); The Bluth family's work ethic has never been especially impressive, but Tobias and Lindsay Funke in particular are not known for their career aspirations. Though Tobias once acted as an analrapist (both an analyst and a therapist), his decision to become an actor has been largely unsuccessful. Don't expect that to change when "Arrested Development" heads into Season 4. Zap2it recently had the chance to speak with David Cross and Portia de Rossi, and Cross says Tobias hasn't advanced much in the seven years the comedy series has been off the air. "Tobias has gotten some work that anybody else who is sane would not appreciate, like, 'That's some good [work]. I'm putting that on my reel and calling myself an actor,'" Cross explains. "Tobias has had a few of those things where it just validates his own delusion that he's a viable working actor." Lindsay, meanwhile, has never been able to hold... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/05/arrested-development-season-4-portia-de-rossi-and-david-cross-on-the-chicken-dance-and-career-aspira.html
