The lost episode (between episodes 1 & 2) For unexplained reasons, the first two episodes of the Japanese series were edited into one for English language broadcast. Most material omitted related to the birth of Atlas, Astro's brother-nemesis. This made for a confusing situation for English-speaking viewers, as some of these events were alluded to in later episodes.
