Season 1, Episode 24 - "Yamamaya"

This episode is about Sakaki's reunion with the Iriomote kitten that she met on the school trip. Early on in the episode she learns that a cat that she believes to have been the Kittens mother was killed in a traffic accident the day after their trip. When Sakaki and Chiyo get cornered by the local cats they are suprised when the Iriomote Kitten jumps into protect them and all the other cats run off. After this and his ordeal on reaching them from the Iriomote Island he collapses from exhaustion. In a panic Sakaki and Chiyo rush him to the vet's. There they are told he will be fine once he has had some rest and recovered his strength. Sakaki is worried that she knows she can't keep him at her house because of her mothers allergy and so is relieved when Chiyo suggests that he can stay at hers. Sakaki decides she should call him Mayaa. When they let their friends at school know they all ask if they can come round and see him. Sakaki asks if she can stay a bit longer when the others leave
