TV ratings: 'Glee' gets a boost from 'American Idol' as FOX wins Thursday

Fast National ratings for Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013"American Idol's" Thursday telecast was off a little from its first hour last week, but it dominated its hour (thanks in part to CBS being in repeats). It also helped "Glee" score some of its best overnight ratings of the season as FOX scored a win for the night.For ABC, "Grey's Anatomy" was up a tick over last week and led its hour in adults 18-49. NBC's "30 Rock" also improved a little, while "Beauty and the Beast" had its best outing in more than two months.FOX averaged 11.2 million viewers and a 6.4 rating/10 share in households to lead the night. CBS (9.3 million, 5.9/9) came in second, a good distance ahead of ABC (6.7 million, 4.4/7). NBC was fourth with 3.8 million viewers and a 2.4/4. Edi Gathegi to Play Secret Agent on Beauty and the Beast

A Twilight Saga star has signed on for Beauty and the Beast . No, not that one. According to Entertainment Weekly , Edi Gathegi will join The CW drama as Kyle, an agent for a top-secret organization who "can easily assess anyone’s weaknesses and happily exploit them," based on network casting notes. Gathegi will debut later on in Beauty and the Beast Season 1 , which returns on January 24. In other recent casting news that broke during the show's hiatus, Sendhil Ramamurthy will soon come on board as an Assistant District Attorney who looks into an unusual death related to Vincent.
