As the Shinigami continue to battle the Zanpakutou spirits in the Sixth Division barracks, lieutenants Tetsuzaemon Iba and Isane Kotetsu decide to go help the others, but are confronted by Ashisogi Jizou, the Zanpakutou of Captain Mayuri Kurotsuchi. Meanwhile, Ichigo tries desperately to beat Senbonzakura, but is unable to help Izuru Kira.
