Season 9, Episode 168 - "The New Captain Appears! His name is Amagai Shuusuke"

Shuusuke Amagai, a member of a hollow-hunting group the Gotei 13 normally does not interact with, is appointed the new head of the third division. He appoints Makoto Kifune as his third seat; however, Amagai and Kifune are not well-received by the third division members. On the suggestion of Rangiku Matsumoto, Izuru Kira, the third division lieutenant, holds a welcoming party for Amagai, but Amagai collapses after one drink due to his low tolerance for alcohol. Hollows invade a dimension near Soul Society and the third division is ordered to destroy them. Kira leaves with the third division members, and they defeat the hollows. A group of "cleaners" that normally inhabit the region begin to crush everything in the vicinity, and Amagai arrives at the last moment to destroy the cleaners.
