TV ratings: CBS leads a soft Sunday

Fast National ratings for Sunday, July 3, 2011Americans celebrated the Independence Day weekend by not watching much broadcast television on Sunday. CBS led the way in viewers, but it was a very soft field.The Eye averaged 4.7 million viewers and a 3.0 rating/5 share in households for the night. ABC (3.9 million, 2.5/5) came in second, a little bit ahead of NBC (3.75 million, 2.3/5). FOX drew 2.1 million viewers and a 1.2/2.FOX led the adults 18-49 demographic with a meager 1.0 rating. Blue Bloods Season 2 Premiere to Be Titled...

Blue Bloods will kick off its season season on Friday, September 23. We've uncovered a couple tidbits related to the upcoming episodes to keep fans buzzing over the summer: It will be titled "Mercy." It will focus on the murder of the husband of a friend of Erin's. TV Ratings: 'America's Got Talent' secures win for NBC

Fast National ratings for Wednesday, June 8, 2011On a night when the options were reruns or reality, reality won big. "America's Got Talent" had their best Wednesday showing since 2006, securing a comfortable ratings win for NBC, while "So You Think You Can Dance" slipped slightly but still locked in good numbers for FOX.NBC averaged 9.73 million viewers and a 5.6 rating/9 share in households, ahead of  FOX (7.1 million, 4.2/7), CBS  (5.4 million, 3.6/6) and ABC (4.1 million, 2.7/5 . The CW trailed with 1.0 million viewers and a 0.7/1."So You Think You Can Dance" and "America's Got Talent" continue to capture the target demo, and NBC and FOX tied in the 18-49 range with 2.8 ratings. TV ratings: 'So You Think You Can Dance' tops Wednesday, Stanley Cup Finals on par with 2010

Fast National ratings for Wednesday, June 1, 2011The Wednesday debut of "So You Think You Can Dance" gave FOX a ratings win for the night opposite reruns on CBS and ABC. NBC's coverage of the National Hockey League's Stanley Cup Finals drew ratings pretty much in line with last year's first game.FOX averaged 8.35 million viewers and a 4.9 rating/8 share in households Wednesday night, leading CBS (6.2 million, 4.1/7) by a healthy margin. ABC (5.1 million, 3.2/5) came in third. NBC (4.5 million, 2.7/5) finished fourth, although its numbers will likely change some because of its live hockey telecast. The CW trailed with 1.2 million viewers and a 0.9/1."SYTYCD" also gave FOX a win among adults 18-49, where it averaged a 3.0 rating. NBC's 1.8 was good enough for second, edging out ABC's 1.7. TV Ratings: 'Blue Bloods,' 'CSI: NY' lead Friday; 'Smallville' finale boosts CW

Fast National ratings for Friday, May 13, 2011 CBS held on strong all evening with help from   "CSI: New York"   and the cop drama   "Blue Bloods,"   which pulled in 11.4 million viewers. The CW enjoyed a bit of a boost from last weeks ratings with the "Smallville"   series finale.   CBS averaged 9.7 million viewers and a 6.1 rating/11 share in households to win the night. NBC was next in line with 4.8 million, 3.3/6, followed by ABC at 4.4 million, 2.8/5. FOX was fourth at 3.5 million, 2.1/4 and the CW put up an impressive 2.97 million, 1.8/3. The Eye's coverage of the Royal Wedding (8.6 million viewers) plus new episodes of "CSI: NY" and "Blue Bloods" helped them win the night."  "Friday Night Lights"' viewership was down almost 800,000 from last week, while "Fringe" held steady with 3.5 million viewers.CBS averaged 9 9.1 million viewers and a 4.0 rating/7 share in households to win the night.
