'Blue Bloods': Killed couple's daughter seeks revenge

Dangerous byproducts of car-accident deaths, plus the police commissioner's visit to a museum, meant another active day for the Reagans."Insult to Injury," Friday's (March 7) episode of CBS' "Blue Bloods" -- written by co-executive producer Daniel Truly, from a story by him and series script coordinator Andrew Raab -- made Frank (Tom Selleck) a chaperone for grandson Sean's (Andrew Terraciano) school field trip. The trek's main guide, Joyce Carpenter (guest star Annie Wersching), quickly proved herself something of a control freak."This isn't my first rodeo," she briskly informed Frank. "You're just to follow my lead." Clearly, she did not know Frank Reagan. What looked to be a day of paperwork for Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) became something else when he took a call meant for a detective who had passed away. The distressed caller, named Jill (guest star Bess Rous), angrily told Danny that the NYPD and the justice system had failed her. When he asked her... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/03/blue-bloods-season-4-episode-16-a-womans-vengeance-and-a-school-trip-add-insult-to-injury.html

TV ratings: 'Hannibal' Season 2 premieres lower in Friday night time slot

Fast national ratings for Friday, Feb. 28, 2014 It shouldn't really come as a surprise that NBC's "Hannibal" premiered to lower ratings than its Season 1 bow on its Friday night debut -- that's just what happens when shows move to Friday night -- but there's good news for the serial killer drama: While the Season 2 premiere was down from its first Season 1 outing, it still managed to beat the last five episodes of Season 1 and perform better than its fall counterpart, "Dracula." CBS won the night in overall viewers with an average of 9.9 million people tuning in for the first Olympics-less Friday in a month and a 6.2 rating/11 household share. A new episode of "Blue Bloods" managed to draw the most viewers of the night -- 11.8 million -- with "Hawaii Five-0's" 10.4 million viewers coming in close behind. ABC came in second with an average 6.9 million viewers... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/03/tv-ratings-hannibal-season-2-premieres-lower-in-friday-night-time-slot.html

'Blue Bloods': Missing-child case is familiar to Danny

Can a long-unsolved case still have a positive outcome?Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) got an answer in "Open Secrets," Friday's (Feb. 28) episode of CBS' "Blue Bloods"written by executive producer Ian Biederman and directed by TV veteran Eric Laneuville.Danny and Maria (Marisa Ramirez) were called to a school from which a youngster named Jenna had disappeared, a crossing guard telling them she'd seen the girl atypically get into a car rather than walk home. The situation brought back troubling memories for Danny, who'd failed to locate a missing girl named Allie years earlier and still was visited regularly by her father Joseph (guest star Patrick Breen), who continued to maintain hope she'd be found.Erin (Bridget Moynahan) was handling the potential prosecution of Diana Del Rio (guest star Caroline Strong), who claimed she had a bipolar condition that caused her to fatally run over her building's superintendent. The defendant's lawyer, real-life attorney Bruce Cutler (again guest-starring as himself),... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/02/blue-bloods-season-4-episode-15-a-missing-child-case-exposes-open-secrets.html

TV Ratings: Olympics dominate a repeat-filled Friday night

Fast National ratings for Friday, Feb. 21, 2014Continuing the trend, the 2014 Winter Olympics reigned supreme over all other programming Friday night. Everything else was a repeat, outside of new episodes of "Shark Tank" and "20/20" on ABC, but even they could hold a candle to one of the final days of the games.Even still, the Olympics were down a bit from Thursday. That didn't mean the other networks could pose much of a challenge though, as they were all dwarfed by NBC, which peaked at 15.6 million at 9 p.m. CBS' night of "Blue Bloods" reruns came in a distant second, with a peak audience of 6.8 million viewers at 10 p.m.Overall, NBC managed 14.5 million viewers with an 8.6 rating/7 share in households. They were followed by CBS with 6.1 million viewers (4.0/7), ABC's 5.4 million viewers (3.5/6), FOX with 2.3 million viewers (1.4/2) and The CW pulling up the rear with 968,000 viewers... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/02/tv-ratings-olympics-dominate-a-repeat-filled-friday-night.html

TV Ratings: Olympics dominate repeats and Valentine's Day programs

Fast National ratings for Friday, Feb. 14, 2014It's no surprise that the 2014 Winter Olympics dominated television on Friday, Feb. 14. With almost all other networks showing repeats or Charlie Brown specials, there wasn't much chance of toppling the Winter Games. Even new episodes of "Enlisted" and "Raising Hope" on FOX didn't stand much of chance. The Olympics dipped somewhat in viewers between Thursday and Friday, even with the highly anticipated men's figure-skating finals. An average of 19.1 million viewers tuned in to the NBC primetime broadcast.Still, that number dwarfed the nearest competition, a repeat of "Hawaii Five-0" on CBS at 9 p.m. Dismal numbers for new programming were represented by "Enlisted" (1.8 million viewers), "Raising Hope" (1.5 million) and "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (0.86 million).Overall, NBC's 19.1 million viewers led to a 11.0 rating/19 share in households. CBS followed with 5.4 million viewers (3.5/6). ABC (4.3 million, 2.8/5), FOX (2.4 million, 1.5/3) and... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/02/tv-ratings-olympics-dominate-repeats-and-valentines-day-programs.html
