Switched at Birth Star to Guest on CSI

Switched at Birth star Vanessa Marano is heading to CSI for an episode, according to The Hollywood Reporter . Marano, 18, will play Samantha, a street gang groupie and the estranged daughter of an ex-con named Frank (Johnny Messner). In the episode, Frank sets out on a harrowing journey to find her.

William Petersen Plans 'CSI' Return, 'Wonder Years' Star Visits 'SVU' & More Casting News

William Petersen is planning a 'CSI' return to coincide with one very big exit. According to TV Guide Magazine, Petersen will return to help longtime 'CSI' star Marg Helgenberger exit the series. "[Petersen] told me he's going to come back this season to help us with Marg's exit," series star George Eads said. Helgenberger is set to exit the series in January. Ted Danson Describes New CSI Character as "Phil Jackson"

At the TCA Summer Press Tour, actor Ted Danson   talked to the TV critics on hand about his new role as supervisor, D.B. Russell, on the granddaddy of modern crime procedurals, CBS'   CSI .   Danson said that Russell was "a family man being brought in to make the team work as best as possible." He likened his character to a "Phil Jackson-type" who "comes in to handle a group of very talented people on a slippery slope because of what happened last season." Ted Danson shocked a lot of people this summer when CBS announced the funnyman would be replacing Laurence Fishburne as the lead of aging procedural "CSI." But as Danson and the creative team promised during the Television Critics Association summer press tour, the show will be changing a bit with him.Per the first clip of the season premiere (now embedded below), Danson plays DB Russell, a father of four and kindly eccentric we first see questioning a child witness by amusing him with an invisible tennis ball he got "on sale" at Target.The whimsical tone is something showrunner Carol Mendelsohn says be in no short supply on the series after the conclusion of last season's particularly dark serial killer arc. First Look: Ted Danson on CSI

Jorja Fox Rejoins 'CSI' As Series Regular

Jorja Fox has officially rejoined the 'CSI' family as a series regular. Fox has been appearing on the hit CBS drama for the last four seasons as a recurring guest star, but TVLine reports Fox will now be re-promoted to series regular. One of the original 'CSI' cast members, Fox left the series in Season 8, but returned as a guest star in Season 9. Now as 'CSI' prepares for a big cast change -- Ted Danson is replacing Laurence Fishburne -- Fox is officially home again.

It's time to meet the new boss."Damages" and "Cheers" star Ted Danson is set to return to broadcast TV as the new supervisor on "CSI" when it returns for itstwelfth season. Danson is filling the void left by the departure of Laurence Fishburne.Danson will play the new supervisor for the grave shift after heading the crime lab in Portland.
