CSI is heading into it’s 14th season this September, but the series still manages to shock. In a series of images from the season premiere, “The Devil and D.B. Russell,” CBS reveals shocking scenes of women being chained and collared to beds. The episode will find the CSI team racing to rescue the kidnapped Morgan and Ellie Brass (Brittany Redman). D.B. Yikes. CSI star George Eads (Nick Stokes) "will not appear in several episodes during the first half" of the show's 14th season, CBS TV Studios said in a statement. Why not? According to The Hollywood Reporter, he wasn't happy with the creative direction of his character — a role he's played since CSI started in 2000 — and he had "a heated exchange" with a co-writer of a recent episode, who happened to be 8 months pregnant. The 300th episode of "CSI" will bring a very familiar face back to the Las Vegas crime lab.Marg Helgenberger, who left the long-running CBS drama a couple years ago, will make a return appearance as Catherine Willows in the milestone episode, which is scheduled to air Oct. 23.Catherine's will return will be sparked by the reopening of a cold case from 14 years back. A former casino mogul becomes a suspect when someone is killed in his home, with the details similar to a case the team worked back in 2000.The episode will include, per TVLine, what executive producer Don McGill is calling "faux-backs" -- newly filmed flashback scenes that feature Catherine, Nick (George Eads) and other current cast members who were also around at the show's start.Helgenberger left "CSI" in January 2012 as Catherine took a job with the FBI.
