CSI: Miami Star Eva LaRue’s Husband Seeks Divorce, Denies Spousal Support

Unfortunately for Miami, this week has not been the city’s happiest. First, Justin Bieber gets arrested. Now, a star of the area’s CSI series is getting divorced. Actress Eva LaRue’s husband, Joseph Cappuccio, has filed for divorce, reports TMZ. Even more upsetting: He asked the court to reject any request Eva might make for spousal support. Anthony E. Zuiker readily admits he's "sad ... I'm so sad" that "CSI: Miami" and "CSI: NY" are no more. 'CSI: Miami's' Emily Procter and David Bromstad help 'Design Star All Stars' get comfortable

Consider "American Idol" finalists and how anyone who ranks in the top few usually has a great voice. Then consider who won and how many you can name. After the first year, it sometimes becomes a trivia contest, but there are memorable contestants from each season. The lesson here is that runners-up generally make for good TV.HGTV applies that lesson with the six-episode "Design Star All Stars," premiering Tuesday, July 31. Drawing from its talent contest "Design Star," it features David Bromstad, the Season 1 winner, as host and mentor."It is one of those really fun type of shows taking the people who didn't win on the regular season of 'Design Star' and offer a personality that more people want to see," Bromstad tells Zap2it. "If you didn't get enough of Tom or Kellie, Sparkle is definitely hilarious."He refers to Tom Vecchione of Season 5, Kellie Clements of Season 6 and Sparkle Josh Johnson of Season... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/07/csi-miamis-emily-procter-and-david-bromstad-help-design-star-all-stars-get-comfortable.html

Why was 'CSI: Miami' canceled over 'CSI: NY': CBS's Nina Tassler discusses 'tough choice'

After 10 seasons, CBS finally said goodbye to "CSI: Miami" and David Caruso's Horatio Caine. Fans of the show were somewhat surprised. Though ratings had slipped considerably for the one-time juggernaut, we still didn't expect such a lackluster send-off, or an April season finale without any of the glory of a series-ender.So why did CBS choose to cancel "CSI: Miami" over, say, "CSI: New York," which still has a position on the Friday night line-up?"It was a very tough choice," Nina Tassler, President of CBS Entertainment, told press in New York on Wednesday morning. "It was almost a jump ball. It was just about where, and what fit on the schedule."In fact, when the slightly different budgets and ratings concerns for the "CSI" spin-offs were factored in, Tassler says there was no distinction -- at least in terms of numbers. "They were very close, looking at them forensically, they were very close. It was an... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/05/why-was-csi-miami-canceled-over-csi-ny-cbs-nina-tassler-discusses-tough-choice.html

'CSI: Miami' and 'The Event' endings still 'up in the air' for 'The Glades' Taylor Cole

Taylor Cole is making another Florida-based crime series now, but she hopes there's still life left in "CSI: Miami."Just added to the A&E drama "The Glades" -- which starts its third season Sunday, June 3 -- as a bureau chief bound to interfere in the less-than-solid relationship of Jim and Callie (Matt Passmore, Kiele Sanchez), the model turned actress spent the current television year as lab technician turned field agent Samantha Owens on the part of CBS' "CSI" franchise not yet renewed beyond its 10th season that ended last month."Sometimes you know and sometimes you don't," Cole tells Zap2it of having been through several series cancellations. "With 'Summerland,' I thought for sure we were getting picked up ... but they wanted 'Charmed' to go for another season, so we got knocked off. With 'The Event,' I was pretty positive we weren't coming back. And with 'CSI: Miami,' it's up in the air."It's harder when you... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/05/csi-miami-and-the-event-endings-still-up-in-the-air-for-the-glades-taylor-cole.html

TV ratings: 'NYC 22' has a so-so premiere as CBS wins a quiet Sunday

Fast National ratings for Sunday, April 15, 2012The series premiere of "NYC 22" pulled in a decent number of viewers for CBS Sunday, but its adults 18-49 rating (1.5) was pretty soft and well below what "CSI: Miami" averaged in the same timeslot earlier in the season. On the upside for the new show -- kind of, anyway -- is the fact that nothing on broadcast TV Sunday drew all that well among the coveted 18-49 demographic. None of the four networks even broke the 2.0 mark in primetime.CBS led the night's overall race with 9.7 million viewers and a 6.2 rating/10 share in households. NBC (6.5 million, 4.2/7) came in second. ABC scored 4.8 million viewers and a 3.0/5 to finish third, beating out FOX (3.8 million, 2.2/4).CBS also topped the 18-49 demo, albeit with just a 1.8 rating. FOX (1.7) and NBC (1.6) were close behind, and ABC brought up the rear with... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/04/tv-ratings-nyc-22-has-a-so-so-premiere-as-cbs-wins-a-quiet-sunday.html
