Season 5 of Californication ended in a bit of a dark place: Hank ( David Duchovny ) was (possibly fatally) drugged by a bitter ex-girlfriend.  Based on the exclusive first look at Season 6 below, things will remain dark when the show resumes — at least for a little while. 'Californication' Season 6: David Duchovny 'always wanted' Hank Moody to die

"Californication" stars David Duchovny and Natascha McElhone are on the cover of the latest issue of LA Confidential, and inside, the actors dish on what's to come in Season 6, which will likely be the final season of the show. Somewhat surprisingly, they say that the fans' obsession with their characters' mercurial romance has invaded their off-screen lives. "I remember after the first season, someone came up to me, literally took me by the shoulders and shook me and said, 'You have to leave that guy!' I was like, 'It's okay, I'm not with him. And he doesn't really exist. It's a character,'" McElhone recalls. "They're so attached to it that they overidentify with her plight and they want to rescue her.
