Season 3, Episode 4 - "Model Meltdown"

16 June, 2009

The challenge this week, run by CNTM judge Mike Ruiz and supermodel Irina Lazareanu, was set up to help the girls develop charisma and presence. After a few suggestions on how to be more confident, the girls had to change into burlap sacks and read a script off of cue cards. Most of the girls struggled with pronouncing the names of the designers in the script. About the girl who won, Irina thought she stood out the most and could have a shot at an international career. Another ‘Jay Mail’ informed the girls that even if they lost their voice they’d still have to face the world. They were taken to The Fifth in downtown Toronto, where they learned from creative director Nolé Marin they would be having an extremely dramatic beauty shoot with a twist – their mouths would be sealed off with duct tape. On set, one girl suffered a bit of a breakdown and after the shoot, she did not return to the house with the rest of the girls. When she did finally show up later that night, the girls pretended as though nothing had happened earlier. During the deliberation period, the judges thought two of the girls shared a similar and that one of them would have to stand out if they wanted to remain in the running. After being told she was holding back, one girl was eliminated.
