'Castle: A Most Melodramatic Murder

In a clever nod to Nathan Fillion's soap opera past, this week's episode of Castle , "One Life to Lose," featured a host of soap opera guest stars. The cameos included Cameron Mathison, Rebecca Budig, Jane Seymour and Corbin Bernsen, just to name a few. The episode certainly did not disappoint. After two weeks of back-to-back heavy, intense episodes, "One Life to Lose" featured a return to the lighthearted and incredibly comical Castle we all know and love. And the best part? Why, the many subtle shoutouts to Castle fans of course. What with all the talk of shippers, crazed fans and bloggers, and even an official couple name (inspired by the fans themselves) given to the show's newest pair, Lanie and Esposito, it was difficult not to love this episode. So, as always, if you missed it, I definitely encourage you to watch last night's episode before reading this, because it's one you definitely don't want to miss. But for those of you who did see it, let's get recapping! Read More...

Castle's Ryan and Esposito Meet Their Doppelgangers

As we revealed yesterday, Castle's gumshoe gang will hear some unfortunate news when they touch ground in L.A.: Old gal pal Natalie Rhodes is M.I.A. (and by M.I.A. we mean in rehab). But if you thought Rhodes was the NYPD’s only chance at a celebrity encounter in the City of Angels you’d be so wrong.  OK, so “celebrity” might be pushing it, but the crime solvers will find themselves eye to eye with the big-screen “Ryan” and “Esposito.” Um, can’t wait to see how that goes over!Source:...

Sneak Peeks: Castle 3.18 "One Life To Lose"

With only the weekend to go before an all new Castle , ABC has released a couple more sneak peeks of the upcoming episode entitled “One Life To Lose”, scheduled to air next Monday at 10pm. Homage to Nathan Fillion’s and Seamus Dever’s earlier days in soap operas, this episode will have Castle and Beckett investigating a murder that happened at the set of the famous soap opera Temptation Lane. “One Life To Lose” is a really fun and lighthearted episode with lots of soapy goodness and shout outs, as opposed to the last few weeks where things had been incredibly intense and dangerous for our favorite duo. This is also an opportunity for Castle to know a new facet of Beckett as he discovers that she is not only a fan, but she is quite well versed in all things fandom related. Read More...

'Castle' Set Visit: Castle & Beckett Get Soapy With 'One Life to Lose' (VIDEO)

Long before 'Castle' became a ratings hit, Nathan Fillion was on 'One Life to Live.' Now Castle and Beckett are investigating a gruesome murder on the set of fictional soap 'Temptation Lane' (Mon., March 21, 10PM ET on ABC), which was actually shot on the set of real-life soap 'All My Children' with cameos from two of its stars. Does that make any sense? All you need to know is it's got everything a great 'Castle' episode should, including guest spots from some pretty cool names and a few inside jokes. Cleverly titled 'One Life to Lose,' the episode shows Beckett (Stana Katic) and crew getting called in to investigate an axe murder -- literally -- on the set of a popular soap opera. 'AMC' star Rebecca Budig plays (you guessed it) a soap star, but her TV husband Cameron Mathison is behind the camera here, playing director, and guest star Corbin Bernsen is playing Budig's TV love interest instead.

Castle 3.18 "One Life to Lose" Sneak Peeks & Teaser

We are still a little over a week away from a new Castle episode, but to calm down the most anxious fans, ABC has released two sneak peeks for “One Life To Lose”. The episode will have Castle and Beckett investigating a murder on the set of a popular soap opera in New York. I had a chance to watch a screener and “One Life To Lose” is hilarious from the very first minute until the last scene. Homage to Nathan Fillion’s and Seamus Dever’s early days on One Life to Live and General Hospital , respectively, the episode presents several aspects of soapy goodness, from the outrageously absurd plots to the obsessed fans. It’s just an all around entertaining episode. Read More...
