Charlie Bartlett Review, by Kirk Honeycutt of The Hollywood Reporter
The teenage rebel is such an iconic figure in cinema, one verging on cliche, you would think that smart filmmakers would steer clear at all costs. Fortunately, writer Gustin Nash and director Jon Poll, each making his feature debut, are perhaps to...
Awesome movie :)
Really, I couldn't be more surprised about a movie.
At first I thought it'd be another failing movie with a cute lead-role, but I couldn't be more wrong :)

More Information
Among the classic high-school rebels of American movies, there have been truants, delinquents, pranksters and con artists, but there has never been anyone quite like Charlie Bartlett. An optimist, a truth-teller and a fearless schemer, when Charlie slyly positions himself as his new school's resident "psychiatrist", dishing out both honest advice and powerful prescriptions, he has no idea the ways in which he will transform his classmates, the school principal and the potential of his own life. |||| Wealthy teenager Charlie Bartlett (Anton Yelchin) is failing miserably at fitting in at a new public high school run by the world-weary Principal Gardner (Robert Downey Jr.). As he begins to better understand the social hierarchy, Charlie's honest charm and likability positions him as the resident "psychologist" dishing out advice, and the occasional prescription with his partner and fellow student, Murphey Bivens (Tyler Hilton), to other students in need. Along the way, he decides to take some of his own advice, find romance, and learn to accept who he is, thus yielding a witty dark comedy about the angst-filled years before college.
