'Community' opening credits in the style of 'The Walking Dead'

"Community" and "The Walking Dead" are very different shows. One features desperate people trapped in a hopeless situation. The other has zombies. The two shows do, however, have one thing in common: Dedicated, passionate fans. One such fan, YouTube user atsp88, combined two passions into one impressive video. Thus, the "Community" opening credits, in the style of "The Walking Dead" opening credits, now exists.Impressively, the shadowy, post-apocalyptic footage seems to all come from "Community." It's normally a cheerful and bright-colored comedy, but the sitcom has parodied enough dark horror over the years to provide anything one could want for a "Walking Dead" theme. The result is kind of incredible. Could "Community" ever take this further and do an entire "Walking Dead"-themed episode? Fans can only hope.... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/02/community-opening-credits-in-the-style-of-the-walking-dead.html

'Community' Season 5: Ben Folds' A**-Crack Bandit song

"Community" fans were introduced to the a**-crack bandit in the Season 5 episode, "Advanced Intergluteal Numismatics." Now, a ballad celebrating the legendary outlaw -- written by Ben Folds -- is available. It's kind of amazing.Although he only appeared briefly (as a pot-growing horticulture professor) on the show, Folds penned a rather impressive song celebrating the coin-dropping figure of mystery. If you don't listen to the lyrics, it even sounds like a real song. But listening to the lyrics may be the best part. Here are a few of the best lines:"You thought your plumbing was safe, but your jeans were half mast""25 cents at a time, he's taking our souls""Coins in the a**-crack or the eyes of a dead man""He's the A**-Crack Bandit -- enemy of the state""He'll give you no quarter, but he'll give you a quarter""Maybe we're the crooks and he's the hero? Maybe he's the messiah? Who's to say?""And don't forget your jukebox... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/02/community-season-5-ben-folds-a-crack-bandit-song.html

'Community' Season 5: 'The Office's' B.J. Novak to guest-star in the finale

"Community" has cast B.J. Novak to guest-star in the Season 5 finale this spring. "The Office" star will make a cameo playing himself.Other details about the role are spotty, but EW.com reports that Novak will be a "TV star in a sexy new series." Obviously, the series is not "The Office," not if "sexy" and "new" are the descriptors.Although there is no set date for the Season 5 finale -- which would double as the series finale if NBC doesn't go the "six seasons and a movie" route -- it is expected to air at some point in April. Novak will appear in the first half of the two-part final episode."Community" airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on NBC and will return to the schedule on Feb. 27, following the Winter Olympics.... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/02/community-season-5-the-offices-bj-novak-to-guest-star-in-the-finale.html

'Community' without Troy: Does 'Chaos Theory' say this is the Darkest Timeline?

The first "Community" episode after the loss of Troy Barnes (Donald Glover) isn't the best one. In fact, "Analysis of Cork-Based Networking" may be the weakest entry yet into an otherwise stellar Season 5. A procession of notable guest stars and another Greendale dance aren't enough to bring this episode up to the high bar set by the rest of the season. Why is that? The answer may be "Chaos Theory."Here's the thing: When Pierce Hawthorne left the study group and Greendale, there wasn't much effect. He was missing, sure, but the rest of the "Community" misfits moved on and did just fine. So why is Troy's departure so important? For an answer, we need only look back to Season 3's incredible "Remedial Chaos Theory." That bizarre episode features seven different stories set in seven different timelines. During a dinner party at Troy and Abed's new apartment, one of the study group has to go get... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/01/community-without-troy-does-chaos-theory-say-this-is-the-darkest-timeline.html
