Things quickly transform from there into a Thunderdome-style competition. It all starts out normal enough with a small gift from Annie (Alison Brie). And then ... 'Community' Season 5: Death, darkness and the best episodes ever

"Community" wasn't really supposed to make it to Season 5. Think about it: The show had a true series finale at the end of Season 3! That was followed by a critically-hammered Season 4 that lost the show its biggest name:Chevy Chase. Any normal series wouldn't have a chance after all of that.Fortunately, "Community" has never, ever been normal. And it's starting to look like that may pay off with Season 5 being one of the series' best. We're four episodes into a 13-episode season, so it's hard to say for sure where everything is going to land, but these few installments are among the show's strongest. After all, "Community" has rarely gone more than two or three episodes in a row without a dud in there. For every "Remedial Chaos Theory," there's an "Advanced Gay."Thus far in Season 5, however, we're seeing none of that. "Repilot" managed to successfully restart a show that had... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/01/community-season-5-death-darkness-and-the-best-episodes-ever.html

Top Moments: Kate Gosselin on Today and Jimmy and Bruce's Traffic Jam

Our top moments of the week:   14. Most Welcome Return:  After a few episodes of moping and drinking away his blues, Person of Interest   finally gets The Man in the Suit back in the action. After the Machine bypasses the usual channels to get Mr. Reese on a plane with the creator of the Black Market — an Internet safe zone for the illegal trading and selling of drugs, weapons, etc. — Reese has to go all "killer at 30,000 feet" to protect the geeky criminal — and the rest of the passengers — from dying in an awful crash. Once the day is saved, however, Reese and Finch meet up overseas to discuss the future of their partnership. It's tense for a while before Reese finally breaks. "While I'm Italy, I thought I'd get fitted for a new suit." Good to you have back! 13. Worst Face-Saving:  After they hooked up at  The Mindy Project 's office Christmas party, Peter thinks he's falling in love with  Maria Menounos . However, when Peter visits her on set, he finds out from  Pat O'Brien  of all people that she's on vacation in Hawaii with her boyfriend. When Peter tries to enter the hot set, O'Brien kicks him in the face and has security detain him when Peter innocently reaches into his pocket for what O'Brien thinks is a gun. Look, Maria! Peter's a TV star now! Read More... http://www.tvguide.com/News/Top-Moments-Kate-Gosselin-1076114.aspx?rss=breakingnews

If 'Community' has a future, will Walt Goggins be part of it?

Fans who turn into tonight's (Thursday,Jan. 16) "Community," or catch up on it later on the DVR, will get to see "Justified" star Walt Goggins guest-star as Mr. Stone, an investigator with a connection to former study-group member Pierce (who was played by ex-cast-member Chevy Chase). The very straight-laced Mr. Stone gives a lie-detector test to the study group, causing them to reflect on how they view themselves and their place in the world. While Mr. Stone turns out to be a bit different than fans may initially expect, playing the part made Goggins a little nervous."I said yes to two things," he tells Zap2it. "I'm a fan of 'Community'; I've been a fan for a long time. I haven't seen every episode, but I've seen enough. I think they're some of the smartest people writing today. Dan [Harmon] is an incredibly bright man."It was fun. It was definitely an opportunity for me to put myself in... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/01/if-community-has-a-future-will-walt-goggins-be-part-of-it.html

'Community': Walton Goggins and Pierce's farewell in 'Cooperative Polygraphy' ... also, sperm

"Community" said goodbye to Pierce Hawthorne in a ridiculous, talkative and surprisingly touching tribute, "Cooperative Polygraphy." There probably was no better way to remember the oft-awful character than with a polygraph machine, Walton Goggins and one last Pierce-inspired fight. Also, sperm.Pierce is now a lava lampIt's been an ongoing -- albeit subtle -- joke on "Community" that Pierce is a member of a strange religion that takes inspiration from Buddhism, Scientology and whatever the writers were smoking when they thought of it. So of course the funeral would involve blue uniforms and the vaporizing of Pierce's essence.True to "Community" form, no matter how silly all of this was, it did signify mourning (not just "Troy and Abed are in mourning!"). The study group really was sad to lose their racist, foolish, occasionally antagonistic friend. All of the arguments that came out later prove that.Walton Goggins seeks the truthDid someone murder Pierce? The answer is no,... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/01/community-walton-goggins-and-pierces-farewell-in-cooperative-polygraphy-also-sperm.html

Community: The Study Group Continues to Be Haunted by Pierce

When news of Pierce's ( Chevy Chase ) death jarringly interrupted the search for the A--crack Bandit, many fans felt his passing wasn't treated with the respect it deserved. This week, "Cooperative Polygraphy" proves Pierce's death wasn't simply a footnote in  Community   history when the arrival of his executor Mr. Stone ( Walton Goggins ) demonstrates the continuing influence Pierce has on the Study Group.       http://www.tvguide.com/News/Community-Cooperative-Polygraphy-Pierce-Dead-1076068.aspx?rss=breakingnews

'Community': Dark, silly crime and death strike in 'Basic Intergluteal Numismatics'

It was a dark and stormy night at Greendale Community College when "Community" was terrorized by the A**-Crack Bandit in "Basic Intergluteal Numismatics." Not even the returns of Professor Ian Duncan (John Oliver) and Star-Burns -- plus a brief cameo from Ben Folds -- could alleviate the dim mood."Dark," by the way, is a literal thing in this "Community" episode. With a blue filter on the camera and a whole bunch of mood lighting, the show takes on a new identity. It might be "The Killing." We could be watching a David Fincher movie like "Fight Club" or "Se7en." This makes sense though. When a criminal is sticking coins where the sun don't shine, there can be no true sunshine for anyone.Greendale's worst criminal returnsStar-Burns the meth dealer wasn't the worst criminal Greendale ever saw. Similarly, Chang's reign of terror paled in comparison to the true villain of the Greendale Community College universe: the... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/01/community-dark-silly-crime-and-death-strike-in-advanced-intergluteal-numismatics.html

'Community': Greendale Has Its Very Own 'Ass-Crack Bandit' (Exclusive Video)

A mysterious bandit is turning Greendale Community College upside down. In this week's Community , students and professors are up in arms over a faceless criminal running around campus. The culprit's crime? Dropping coins down people's pants. The Ass-Crack Bandit, he or she is lovingly referred to. (At Greendale, it's a serious offense.) So Dean Pelton ( Jim Rash ) does what any logical person would do, recruit anyone and everyone to help bring the bandit to justice.  Read More...   http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/thr/television/~3/AgOlGNqToOg/story01.htm
