Dallas Vet Audrey Landers Says "Rebecca Needs Her Mother"

The August 8 season finale of TNT's Dallas revealed that Christopher Ewing's estranged wife, Rebecca Sutter, is really Pamela Rebecca Barnes — the daughter of Cliff Barnes and his ex, Afton Cooper (who is also the sister of Lucy Ewing's ex-husbnd, Mitch). Got all that? Oh those frisky Ewings just can't stop sleeping around. Among the viewers shocked by the reveal was Audrey Landers, who played Afton on the original CBS series on and off from 1981 to 1989. Like many fans, Landers wonders what this could mean for her. While Landers, still stunningly gorgeous at 56, hasn't yet been approached about a return, she admits she's anxious to step back into the world she knew so well. 'Dallas': TNT teases its update of the classic soap

If there's one thing TNT wants you to take away from the teaser for its new version of "Dallas," it's this: The show is not a remake, just a continuation of the story that played out for 13 seasons from 1978-91 on CBS."Television's landmark drama returns," the voiceover intones on the teaser, which aired during "The Closer" on Monday night (July 11). Sure, there's been a 21-year break (not counting a couple of TV movies in the latter half of the '90s) since the last episode, but unlike, say, "Hawaii Five-0" or ABC's upcoming "Charlie's Angels," TNT is selling continuity with the old show.Three prominent cast members from the original -- Patrick Duffy, Larry Hagman and Linda Gray -- are in the new series, which centers on J.R.'s (Hagman) son John Ross (Josh Henderson) and Bobby's (Duffy) adopted son Christopher (Jesse Metcalfe). And from the glimpses we get of them, the old hands haven't changed... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/07/dallas-tnt-teases-its-update-of-the-classic-soap.html

'Dallas' reboot: Producers scout locations outside Texas, despite Larry Hagman's protests

Would the "Dallas" reboot still be "Dallas" if it was shot in Atlanta? Or maybe Canada where many shows have taken advantage of the costs-savings. Even if shooting took place in another Texas location? According to the original J.R. Ewing, shooting anywhere else wouldn't be the same.On Wednesday (Feb. 9), Larry Hagman, 79, voiced his disbelief after hearing that TNT's "Dallas" reboot producers were scouting shoot locations outside of the title city. And despite his protests, the producers are moving forward on that plan."Yeah, well, those producers are going down either this week or next week," Hagman tells Zap2it. "I hope they get Dallas. It would be awful if they get any place else - just for the publicity angle alone. But, yah know I'm not the head of that organization either."Hagman, whose participation in the reboot was reportedly endangered by contract negotiations before he signed on to be a regular, is very frank about the... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/02/dallas-reboot-producers-scout-locations-outside-texas-despite-larry-hagmans-protests.html

Dallas' Larry Hagman to Guest-Star on Desperate Housewives

Larry Hagman is going from Southfork Ranch to Wisteria Lane. The Dallas star and erstwhile J.R. Ewing will appear on Desperate Housewives later this season, he tells The Hollywood Reporter. Hagman will play the love interest of Lynette's mother, Stella Wingfield (Polly Bergen), and will start shooting next week. Having never seen the show, the 79-year-old says he has been catching up on Hulu. "I can watch a hundred episodes on my iPad," he says. "I never watch television, so I better get started so I can see what the show's all about." After his Housewives stint, Hagman could make a return trip to Dallas. TNT has ordered a reboot of the '80s prime-time soap, which will focus on the children and grandchildren of feuding brothers J.R. and Bobby Ewing. Hagman says negotiations are currently ongoing.
