'Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars': Injured Derek Hough 'may dance next week,' says Katherine Jenkins

Katherine Jenkins is perfectly content to be sitting out "Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars."The Welsh mezzo-soprano gained a much larger American fan base as the runner-up in last spring's season of the ABC contest, undoubtedly a reason the network invited her to participate in its annual "CMA Country Christmas" special Thursday, Dec. 20. She doesn't mind that the job only involves singing, and no fancy footwork, for her."They did not ask any of the Season 14 contestants," Jenkins tells Zap2it about not being on "Dancing" now. "They felt it was too soon ... and to be quite honest, had they asked me, I probably wouldn't have done it. I'd have had to make a big gap in my schedule to do the season, and last time, my poor manager was having to reschedule tours for later in the year.RELATED: 'Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars' pics"I also think that it's such an intense experience, you need...

'Dancing With the Stars' Derek Hough: "I'm ready to dance"

It's been a crazy week for "Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars" partners Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough. After a neck injury forced Derek to the sidelines, Mark Ballas, Shawn's winning partner from Season 8, stepped in, rehearsing with Shawn to Derek's choreography. Mark also filled in for Derek in Monday's (Nov. 5) performance show, leading Shawn to her first perfect score of the season. When we asked Derek backstage how he felt watching from the audience, he insisted: "I was happy, it was part of the process. All season long, I felt really strong about performances regardless of the scores, and this week we dedicated to doing choreography that was clean and more traditional -- and I think that paid off tonight." Judge Len Goodman certainly didn't complain about "frippery." "I was delighted," said Mark about their performance. "I just felt really good all week." "He was laughing," Derek revealed, "because it was a Wednesday,...

'Dancing With the Stars' Apolo Ohno strips down: 'I went shirtless - it felt good!'

History was made tonight (Nov. 5) on "Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars": Apolo Ohno finally showed some skin! After eight weeks of urging by pro partner Karina Smirnoff, the speed-skating champion finally agreed to take off his shirt during their electrifying cha-cha/paso doble fusion dance. "I think everyone takes off clothes every week," Apolo noted backstage after their performance, but this was a first for the Season 4 mirror-ball trophy winner. "I went shirtless -- it felt good," he told us. "It was in tune with the dance. I loved it. The paso was super-strong; the cha-cha was fun and fast ... I loved it." "Karina asked me to do it [from] week one," he shared. "She said you don't need a shirt, you can just dance in pants the whole season." "He does resist me a lot when I ask him to take off clothing," laughed Karina. "Confidence comes from within -- I don't...

Let's contemplate that while we preview what's to come in Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars week 7.
