'Dancing With the Stars' shocker: Did Shawn Johnson deserve Len Goodman's smackdown?

After being sidelined by a neck injury, "Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars" pro Derek Hough finally reuinited with his partner, Shawn Johnson, Monday night (Nov. 12). As a tribute to Veterans Day, Derek outfitted himself as a soldier, with Shawn in an angelic white gown. The two performed a heavenly Viennese waltz that nearly earned the couple their first perfect score. Only judge Len Goodman docked them half a point for total of 29.5. But it was their trio tribal samba, performed with Mark Ballas, that generated the night's biggest controversy. Although the dance earned a standing ovation from the crowd and a perfect score from judge Carrie Ann Inaba, Goodman chastised the pros for their "self-indulgent" choreography that deviated wildly from the traditional samba and gave them a shockingly low 7. When the audience, included many military vets, loudly voiced their displeasure, host Tom Bergeron told Goodman, "You were roundly booed by a lot... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/11/dancing-with-the-stars-shocker-did-shawn-johnson-deserve-len-goodmans-smackdown.html

'Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars': Injured Derek Hough 'may dance next week,' says Katherine Jenkins

Katherine Jenkins is perfectly content to be sitting out "Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars."The Welsh mezzo-soprano gained a much larger American fan base as the runner-up in last spring's season of the ABC contest, undoubtedly a reason the network invited her to participate in its annual "CMA Country Christmas" special Thursday, Dec. 20. She doesn't mind that the job only involves singing, and no fancy footwork, for her."They did not ask any of the Season 14 contestants," Jenkins tells Zap2it about not being on "Dancing" now. "They felt it was too soon ... and to be quite honest, had they asked me, I probably wouldn't have done it. I'd have had to make a big gap in my schedule to do the season, and last time, my poor manager was having to reschedule tours for later in the year.RELATED: 'Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars' pics"I also think that it's such an intense experience, you need... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/11/dancing-with-the-stars-all-stars-injured-derek-hough-may-dance-next-week-says-katherine-jenkins.html

DWTS All-Stars Week 8 Sneak Peek: Trio Dances Are Back! Which Pros Will Return?

It takes two to Tango, but three to Trio Tango. Dancing With the Stars All-Stars Week 8 will see a return of the fun element first added last season, the Trio Dances — where an extra pro dancer is chosen to dance with each couple. The seven remaining Season 15 pairs chose a pro either from the DWTS troupe or someone who was already eliminated earlier this season. Also, in addition to the Trio dance, everyone has another ballroom dance. So there are two dances on Monday, November 12,... http://feeds.wetpaint.com/~r/wetpaint/latest/excerpt/~3/GvVs2EU-wr8/dwts-all-stars-week-8-sneak-peek-trio-dances-are-back-which-pros-will-return

TV ratings: 'Dancing With the Stars' and 'The Voice' lead a quiet Monday, CBS comedies low

Fast National ratings for Monday, Nov. 5, 2012Monday's ratings didn't feature a whole lot to crow about for the networks, as "The Voice," "Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars" and three of CBS' four comedies were down from their most recent originals ("2 Broke Girls" was even with its last new episode). CBS and The CW may have been hurt a little by their decision to pull programming last week as Hurricane Sandy was hitting the East Coast. Those episodes aired Monday, but a lot of program guides didn't recognize them as new, which means DVRs may not have recorded them.On FOX, "Bones" returned with an audience on par with its season average in the overnights. So did "The Mob Doctor," but that's not exactly good news.ABC led the night in viewers, drawing 12.3 million people and an 8.2 rating/12 share in households. NBC came in second at 10.7 million viewers and a 6.3/9; its numbers... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/11/tv-ratings-dancing-with-the-stars-and-the-voice-lead-a-quiet-monday-cbs-comedies-low.html

'Dancing With the Stars' Derek Hough: "I'm ready to dance"

It's been a crazy week for "Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars" partners Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough. After a neck injury forced Derek to the sidelines, Mark Ballas, Shawn's winning partner from Season 8, stepped in, rehearsing with Shawn to Derek's choreography. Mark also filled in for Derek in Monday's (Nov. 5) performance show, leading Shawn to her first perfect score of the season. When we asked Derek backstage how he felt watching from the audience, he insisted: "I was happy, it was part of the process. All season long, I felt really strong about performances regardless of the scores, and this week we dedicated to doing choreography that was clean and more traditional -- and I think that paid off tonight." Judge Len Goodman certainly didn't complain about "frippery." "I was delighted," said Mark about their performance. "I just felt really good all week." "He was laughing," Derek revealed, "because it was a Wednesday,... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/11/dancing-with-the-stars-derek-hough-im-ready-to-dance.html

'Dancing With the Stars' Apolo Ohno strips down: 'I went shirtless - it felt good!'

History was made tonight (Nov. 5) on "Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars": Apolo Ohno finally showed some skin! After eight weeks of urging by pro partner Karina Smirnoff, the speed-skating champion finally agreed to take off his shirt during their electrifying cha-cha/paso doble fusion dance. "I think everyone takes off clothes every week," Apolo noted backstage after their performance, but this was a first for the Season 4 mirror-ball trophy winner. "I went shirtless -- it felt good," he told us. "It was in tune with the dance. I loved it. The paso was super-strong; the cha-cha was fun and fast ... I loved it." "Karina asked me to do it [from] week one," he shared. "She said you don't need a shirt, you can just dance in pants the whole season." "He does resist me a lot when I ask him to take off clothing," laughed Karina. "Confidence comes from within -- I don't... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/11/dancing-with-the-stars-apolo-ohno-strips-down-i-went-shirtless---it-felt-good.html

'Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars' Week 7 Preview: Fusion Brings the Dancers/Dances Together

They're really pulling out all the stops when it comes to mixing things up on Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars , aren't they? Somehow or other, this means that week 7 will feature something called fusion dances: Two dance styles mixed together into one performance. This could either be great or just weird. Let's contemplate that while we preview what's to come in Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars week 7. http://www.buddytv.com/articles/dancing-with-the-stars/dancing-with-the-stars-all-sta-48297.aspx

DWTS All-Stars Week 7 Sneak Peek: Fusion Dances, Swing Marathon, Spotlight on Mark and Chelsie

Speaking of fusion, Dancing With the Stars All-Stars Week 7 (starting November 5) will fuse portions of the Results Show into Monday’s Performance Show. There will be no DWTS episode on Tuesday, due to the election, and no one will go home (although they originally planned to dump someone at the end of Monday night.). However, the DWTS pro troupe will perform Monday, and the AT&T Spotlight performance will still be held, in addition to the top seven couples’ fusion dances... http://feeds.wetpaint.com/~r/wetpaint/latest/excerpt/~3/b4ltHPeFak8/dwts-all-stars-week-7-sneak-peek-fusion-dances-swing-marathon-spotlight-on-mark-and-chelsie
