Dev Patel (born April 1990 in Harrow, London) is an English actor who is best known for his role as Anwar Kharral in the E4 TV teen drama, Skins, although it was announced on March 29, 2008 that his role, along with the other current roles of the current series, will be written out after series 2.

Patel attended Whitmore High School. He started training at Rayners Lane Academy of Taekwon-do in 2000, and has a black belt. On the way to black belt, he competed regularly in both national and international championships, including a World Championships, and has won over 37 medals, many of which are gold.

Apart from playing Anwar Kharral in Skins, he starred in Danny Boyle's movie Slumdog Millionaire and is set to play Zuko in M. Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender.
