Doug is the very first nicktoon on Nickelodeon. It was created by former Nickelodeon artist, Jim Jenkins. It aired August 11, 1991 & discontinued December 16, 1994. It was produced by Jumbo Pictures Inc.. Doug Funnie is an 11 year old boy with an average life of a kid. Doug and his family moved from a different resident from Bloatsburg to the new town Bluffingtown. There he meets many other kids that live in Bluffingtown including Skeeter, Patty, Roger, & Beebe. Everyday, Doug writes in his journal about new adventures he had discovered and sometimes he imagines himself as a superhero named Quailman. He uses these ideas to fix difficult situations & make decisions. September 7, 1996, Disney bought Jumbo Pictures and ordered new episodes of Doug to be produced. The name of the series was "Brand Spanking New! Doug" and later was renamed as "Disney's Doug". It was continued until June 26, 1999.
