Dr. Gregory House, M.D., is a fictional character and protagonist of the Fox medical drama House. Portrayed by Hugh Laurie, the character is a maverick medical genius who heads a team of diagnosticians at the fictional Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital (based on Yale-New Haven Hospital). House's character has been described as a "misanthrope", a "cynic" and a "curmudgeon", the last of which was named one of the top television words of 2006 in honor of the character. Some "qualities" he has are that he is extremely smart, arrogant, a non-conformist, stubborn, of course an addict, insane and definitely superior to all the others! He finds the strangest ways to solve the cases he is given and he is always on the search for the more interesting ones. (which makes for good TV). He has his way with the ladies and quite a way he has to get what he wants. He is pretty manipulative when it comes to his friend Dr. James Wilson and even to his patients. He hates clinic duty and may I say that he is way behind on that. He has a pain problem in his right leg, resulting him in using a cane. Though he uses it on the same side as his hurt leg, making him gimpy. He absolutley refuses to to wear a lab coat, showing his stubborness, and he wears pretty much what ever he wants to work. He wears running sneakers, a graphic tee or buisness like shirt, pants or jeans, a badly untailored suit jacket which is clearly too short. This shows how much he really cares. He also barely ever shaves because Wilson told him he was more attractive that way, just to mess with his head. And speaking of his head, he never combs his hair in the morning. This man is pretty crazy but we all still love him for it. So Dr. Gregory House, who doesn't knows him? With his sarcastic and wierdo comments, he is number one!
