When Ethel & Lofty arrive -- as she sits down at the table with Tony -- and Nick pops in -- this causes Ethel to pop back up again & out of the café faster than a speeding bullet. Later on, Ali gives Lofty some money and instructions, so that he can place some bets for him on horses. And when Dr Legg stops by, Ali tells him that he has decided to change doctors, explaining how it's in order to give themselves a fresh start, in the same way that they have just redecorated.
