Fast National ratings for Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012The long Labor Day weekend pushed down ratings for the broadcast networks across the board Sunday, with CBS coming out on top thanks to "60 Minutes" and "Big Brother." The latter was down from recent performances but scored the night's best adults 18-49 numbers.(Note: Household ratings and shares for Sunday night weren't available as of posting time.)CBS drew 4.9 million viewers in primetime to lead the way. NBC (3.1 million) came in second. FOX (2.4 million) edged ABC (2.3 million) for third place.FOX snagged the lead among adults 18-49, albeit with only a modest 1.1 rating. Fast National ratings for Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012An NFL exhibition game between the Indianapolis Colts and Pittsburgh Steelers gave NBC an easy ratings win Sunday night. "Big Brother," meanwhile, rebounded some for CBS without the Olympics as competition, and ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition" ended its summer run on an up note.NBC delivered 8.1 million viewers and a 5.2 rating/9 share in households in primetime, numbers that will likely rise when adjustments for the live NFL telecast are made. CBS (5.6 million, 3.7/6) came in second overall. ABC took third with 3.7 million viewers and a 2.3/4, finishing a little bit ahead of FOX (3 million, 1.7/3).The adults 18-49 title also went to NBC, which scored a 2.6 rating in the demographic. That was more than a point better than second-place FOX, 1.4. CBS drew a 1.2 and ABC a 1.0....

The Modern Family star — recently named the highest-paid actress on television — will guest-star on an upcoming episode of Family Guy , Entertainment Weekly reports. She will be featured as Peter Griffin's "fantasy love interest" and she'll also have a cameo as a woman selling roses in a restaurant, according to the report.

As first reported by Entertainment Weekly , Hunger Games star Elizabeth Banks will lend her voice to the Family Guy premiere this fall, coming on board as the wife of Lois' ex-boyfriend, Ross Fishman. Look for her character's family to try and scale Mount Everest. “The Fishmans look down their noses at the Griffins as these slobs,” said producer Mark Hentemann. “They’re super successful and they go on the most exotic vacations and they take on the greatest challenges... CBS scored the night's biggest total audience thanks to "60 Minutes," and a pair of "Family Guy" reruns on FOX scored the highest adults 18-49 numbers, although ABC led the demographic for the whole night.CBS averaged 5.5 million viewers and a 3.6 rating/6 share in households in primetime. ABC (4.8 million, 3.0/5) finished second, a little bit ahead of NBC (4.5 million, 2.8/5). FOX trailed in viewers, drawing 2.9 million people and a 1.7/3.ABC finished first among adults 18-49 with a 1.4 rating, edging FOX's 1.3. NBC posted a 1.0 in the demo and CBS a 0.7....

However, CBS' "60 Minutes" garnered the most viewers in the 7 p.m. hour.NBC finished with 8.28 million viewers (5.0/9) followed by CBS (5.24 million, 3.5/6), ABC (4.5 million, 2.7/5) and FOX (2.5 million, 1.5/3).
