Ghost Whisperer Boss Looking to the Future After Cancellation

Ghost Whisperer fans shouldn't say goodbye to the paranormal just yet. Although the show was canceled after five seasons, executive producer Kim Moses tells that she and her team are moving forward on a new show called Ghostworld with ABC. CBS cancels seven series, including Ghost Whisperer, Numb3rs and Cold Case Set to shoot this summer, Ghostworld is about a ghost who helps a young homicide detective solve crimes. In doing so, he hopes to discover clues to his own life and death. The script was originally written by Daniel Taplitz and What About Brian creator Dana Stevens is also now on board. Although ABC passed on picking up the series after what Moses calls a "very last minute" cancellation by CBS, Moses is staying positive. "We always want to keep telling stories because that's what we are in our heart and our soul," she says. "ABC and CBS have been incredibly supportive ... and it's important we do additional things." ABC passes on 'Ghost Whisperer'

Ghost Whisperer has officially crossed over. The long-running Jennifer Love Hewitt drama - which was axed by CBS last week - will not be jumping to ABC after all. Executive producers Ian Sander and Kim Moses confirmed the news via the following statement: “After five wonderful seasons and over 100 episodes, we are disappointed to announce Ghost Whisperer will not be returning for a sixth season. We’ve had an incredible experience and owe a debt of gratitude to everyone involved. We continue our relationship with ABC Studios and look forward to developing many more successful projects together in the future.” A rep for ABC Studios, which co-owns the show with CBS, declined to comment.

'Ghost Whisperer' Still Has a 'Life'

Jennifer Love Hewitt's spooky TV series "Ghost Whisperer" has been brought back from the dead - TV executives at ABC have given the show a lifeline. The long-running drama was axed last week as part of a sweep by executives at CBS. But Hewitt's co-star and ex-boyfriend Jamie Kennedy has revealed there is still "life" in the programme after ABC chiefs expressed interest in picking up "Ghost Whisperer" for its future schedule. He says, "They are talking about it, so that's cool. We haven't exactly gone into the light, we haven't crossed over, but we've got some life." "Ghost Whisperer" premiered in 2005. CBS Cancels Seven Shows, Including Old Christine, Ghost Whisperer and Cold Case

From THR: CBS is going to have some open slots next season after all. In an year when some insiders speculated that CBS would only lose a couple shows, the network just canceled four dramas (including three veterans) and two comedies. Crime procedurals Cold Case , Ghost Whisperer and Numb3rs will not be renewed. Jerry Bruckheimer's drama Miami Medical is likewise canceled, as is fellow newcomer Accidentally on Purpose , which mainly aired in the network's Monday night comedy block. TV Ratings: CBS wins Friday, ABC takes key adult demo

Fast National ratings for Friday, May 14, 2010 With numbers slightly down from last Friday, CBS still took its usual Friday night winner's spot. ABC, however, snuck ahead in the 18 - 49 demo. CBS drew 6.2 million viewers and a 4.1 rating/8 share in households for the evening. ABC was next with 5.7 million and a 3.8/7, followed by NBC (5.1 million, 3.4/7), FOX (3.3 million, 2.0/4) and The CW (1.7 million, 1.1/2).
