Glee: Photos from Their World Series Performance

Surely, fellow gleeks, you watched the World Series last Saturday just to watch the Glee cast perform the National Anthem. Me, I was out over the weekend, so I watched it on YouTube instead--and man, if Mercedes complained about not getting that many solos in the television show, then I'm sure Amber Riley is beeeaming at the chance to lead the whole cast in the performance. If you haven't seen it--and by now, I think you should've-- here's the video anyway and more Photos .

Glee: Matthew Morrison Wants To Be "The Next Gene Kelly" With Solo Album

There's been some talk about which one among the Glee cast members will get a solo album first. Just when it felt that Lea Michele will get first dibs, it dawns on us: it's not her, it's Matthew Morrison. In an interview with Access Hollywood, the guy we all know as Will Schuester--or maybe as the guy on Broadway's Hairspray and The Light in the Piazza, among others--confirmed that he will be working on his own album soon. "Right now, I've almost finalized a record deal and am going to be working on an album," he said. "I would consider it a classier Justin Timberlake album," he added. "It's going to be me and a big orchestra, but also with beats." So I smell some swinging beats with rapping? Not that JT rapped, but you know. Morrison says the upcoming solo effort is just part of his master plan to make it big in the industry. "I want to be like the next Gene Kelly," he said. "I want to kind of do it all. I want to have a career in movies, television, music and Broadway--but have them all be separate, their own entities." He also confirmed that he won't be part of the reported Glee tour set for summer next year. "You probably know as much as I do about it," he said. "I just read about it online. I don't think I'm going to be involved in that. Mr. Schuester likes to take his summer break." Well, Mr. Shue, we still have an album to listen to, so we don't really mind. Source Here

Glee's Best (and Worst) Musical Numbers

There's a reason the critics are raving about Glee , and it's not its hard-hitting approach to tackling teen issues. It's the musical performances! The Gleeks' interpretations of a wide range of ballads, raps, rock anthems and show tunes are what make this campy new series just plain fun. The show's first soundtrack album, Glee: The Music, Volume 1, hits stores today. To celebrate - and to sustain yourself through the hiatus - check out a list of our favorite musical numbers (and a few of our least favorites) and weigh in with your list. Song: "Don't Stop Believin'" Original Artist: Journey Why We Loved It: It's the song that started the Gleek phenomenon, and what a way to kick it off. The talented kiddies of McKinley High take the '80s power ballad and use it as their mantra to get New Directions off the ground. Their peppy cover reached the No. 1 spot on iTunes. Song: "Somebody to Love" Original Artist: Queen Why We Loved It: It's not hard to find somebody to love in this Lea Michele-Cory Monteith duet, who handle the song's complex melodies with layered vocals and cool harmonies. Next question: When do we get to hear their "Bohemian Rhapsody?" Click here to watch the video Song: "Alone" Original Artist: Heart Why We Loved It: Two words: Kristin Chenoweth. The Emmy winner made us chuckle as the drunkity-drunk April Rhodes, and we were absolutely blown away by her pipes on this Heart classic. No disrespect to Ann and Nancy Wilson, but Chenoweth's version gives the original a run for its money. Click here to watch the video Song: "No Air" Original Artist: Jordin Sparks Why We Loved It: Fine, once Rachel and Finn start walking through the halls as the wind machine comes on, it morphs into something decidedly cheesier, but Michele's passionate delivery betrays Rachel's feelings for Finn. Quinn's stink eye throughout the song is priceless as well. Click here to watch video Song: "Sweet Caroline" Original Artist: Neil Diamond Why We Loved It: Puck (Mark Salling) brought Diamond's sweet serenade out of the barroom and used it to woo Rachel. (As Puck says, together they're "a couple of good-looking Jews.") It's sweet to see him step up to the plate, but it's even sweeter to see that Quinn really loves her baby daddy based on her glowing expression. Click here to watch the video Song: "Bust a Move" Original Artist: Young MC Why We Loved It: While Mr. Schuester has fly moves and the ability to keep up with the hip-hop jam's rat-a-tat lyrics, the best moment of this entire performance is Kurt's reaction shot when Mr. Schu sings him the line "You're feelin' really fine/cuz the girl is stacked." Click here to watch the video Song: "Thong Song" Original Artist: Sisqo Why We Didn't Love It: Awk-ward! Will says he's going to teach Emma - who's wearing an oversized wedding dress - how to dance. Instead, he herks and jerks in circles around her, and then he tackles her. Plus, he sings Sisqó. Click here to watch the video Song: "Gold Digger" Original Artist: Kanye West featuring Jamie Foxx Why We Didn't Love It: Mercedes brings the diva, but Mr. Schu's Kanye impression is too effortful and not plausible enough. Click here to watch the video Song: "It's My Life/Confessions Pt. 2" Mash Up Original Artist: Bon Jovi/Usher Why We're Torn: Artie's wheelie-poppin' performance of "Confessions" couldn't have been more charming, but Finn's Bon Jovi rendition is a little off. Sure, he's supposed to be jacked up on speed, but his oafish spasticity is distracting. Click here to watch the video What are your favorites? Source & Video

Video: Cast of 'Glee' Singing at Game 3

The cast of TV's most hyped show this Fall, " Glee ", were taking over the Citizens Bank Park on Saturday, October 31 to do the honor of performing the national anthem. The lots had been snubbed by NBC's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade but they delivered when tapped to perform at the World Series event. The likes of Cory Monteith, Lea Michele, and Chris Colfer took a minute of Game 3 between Phillies and Yankees to sing the song in World Series jerseys and 'Stand Up to Cancer' shirts. But it was Amber Riley who took the center stage, belting out the first few phrases solo. When they got to the "bombs bursting in the air", fireworks were lit. Phillies Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt then came out to throw the ceremonial first pitch. The crowd cheered for him and the ovation did not stop until Schmidt hugged baseman Ryan Howard and left the field. " Glee " is taking a break from airing on Fox due to the World Series. It will return on November 11 with episode "Wheels". Source & Video

"Glee" cast to get Hollywood diversity award

The cast of the quirky Fox TV show "Glee" will be presented with a Hollywood diversity award in November for their portrayal of a group of teen oddballs with a passion for song and dance.

Glee star Matthew Morrison to release a solo album

Here's hoping Justin Timberlake has enjoyed his time in the spotlight. It seems Matthew Morrison, the star of the hit Fox musical series Glee, is ready to take his place! "Right now, Ive almost finalized a record deal and am going to be working on an album," the former Broadway star, TK, told Access Hollywood. "I would consider it a classier Justin Timberlake album." Morrison, who plays Glee club mentor Will Schuester on the show, said that his sound is "going to be different" than expected, adding that it will "be me and a big orchestra, but also with beats." (He likened it to "Timberlake meets Michael Buble.") The actor will likely incorporate his years of experience on the Broadway stage into the album as well. He has appeared in Footloose, The Rocky Horror Show, Hairspray, South Pacific and The Light in the Piazza, which earned the actor a Tony nomination in 2005 for his role as Fabrizio Nacarelli. Morrison isn't the only Glee star planning a solo album. Lea Michele is also considering one, show creator Ryan Murphy has said.

From 'So You Think You Can Dance' Contestants To 'Glee' Juvenile Delinquents?

Now, if this is true, this is going to be a pretty surreal experience for you So You Think You Can Dance fans. SYTYCDism reports that three of the dancers from SYTYCD's fourth season--Katee Shean, Kherington Payne and Comfort Fedoke--will show up in a future episode of Glee . Now that's one for cross-promotion, huh? Nothing's confirmed yet, but the word is they'll be appearing as "juvees" on episode 13, "Sectionals", which airs December 9. Or, as it obviously implies (and as all of us gleeks know), when New Directions competes in sectionals. Now, as a SYTYCD followed and half-diehard gleek, I'll try to connect the dots. Remember the three schools McKinley High's glee kids will compete against? The school for deaf kids (who'll perform John Lennon's "Imagine") and what Mercedes calls the place for female juvenile delinquents? Well, that must be the place! So if there's anything we can expect from this, it's that that group will have some mean dance moves that should rival anything that Will choreographs. If that is really the case, then we might--again, might--expect the three former SYTYCD contestants on episode 11, "Hairography", which features rapper Eve as an instructor from a rival glee club. I'm still guessing she's heading up the club from those juvee kids, and if my theory holds correct, then we might see these SYTYCD stars on two Glee episodes. Whether it happens or not, it's gotta be a pretty interesting (and I must say amusing) role for these three. And, yes, a good opportunity for cross-promotion, too. So, maybe, when American Idol comes along we can expect Simon Cowell to show up, or Randy Jackson going "yo, yo, yo dawg!" on Artie... Source Here

Glee: So When Will Mr. Shue Find Out About Mrs. Shue? (And What Happens Next?)

There was this little spoilery detail on Glee from Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello that I so did not expect. This is how he put it: "There's a crazy-ass rumor going around that Will will discover Terri's faux baby plot, dump her, and then, in a moment of passion, get her pregnant for real! The really crazy-ass part? Sources confirm that more than half of the rumor is true!" So more than half the rumor is true, huh? Unlike Puck, I attended math class (but forgot half of it anyway) but I remember permutations and all that statistics stuff. So we have the parts: Will discovers the fakery, Will dumps her, and that moment of passion, which should result in an actual pregnancy. I shall shuffle them all together and present to you the probabilities. To Read More Click Here .
