'Glee' season 3: No special guest stars, says Ryan Murphy

It's no secret that high school is a time of transition and so "Glee" -- a show about high school -- is maturing as it heads into it's junior year (aka season 3).According to series creator Ryan Murphy, high-wattage guest stars like Gwyneth Paltrow and splashy tribute episodes (shows that revolve around a particular artist's songs) will not be on the syllabus for the upcoming season. Well, except for one."It's one I've been working on for two years," Murphy tells TV Line. "It took forever to clear -- with a really big artist."But, says Murphy, season three will be all about character and, he adds, there will be big stories in store for characters like Mercedes (Amber Riley), Mike and Tina, Mr. Schue (Matthew Morrison) and, he says, Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch)."We have an amazing 20-episode arc for Jane Lynch that's quite fantastic," says Murphy. And -- shocker -- it won't involve plotting to destroy... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/06/glee-season-3-no-special-guest-stars-says-ryan-murphy.html

'Glee' cast changes: Lea Michele goes, Matthew Morrison stays?

This is sad news for us "Glee" fans, but we suppose that those Gleeks can't stay young forever. Ryan Murphy spoke with Ryan Seacrest on Friday morning and not only announced his engagement to an unknown mystery man, but also mentioned that the "Glee" cast would be undergoing some major renovations in coming years. As the New Directions kids, like Rachel (Lea Michele), Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Quinn (Dianna Agron) graduate - which they will - we won't suddenly see "Glee: The College Years." Instead, they'll be replaced by a freshman class of new talent."We've got Matt Morrison and Jane Lynch who will stay and be the male and female linchpins of the series, but I think the fun thing about the show is it's a celebration of youth and talent," Murphy says. "I think that just like with the original cast, I think finding those young unknown people and giving them an opportunity to break... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/06/glee-cast-changes-lea-michele-goes-matthew-morrison-stays.html

'Glee': Six Join Writing Staff for Season 3

In the midst of its summer concert tour,  Glee  has added six to its writing staff for Season 3. Naya Rivera and Darren Criss Sing "Valerie" at NYC Concert

Naya Rivera (Santana) made a surprise appearance at Darren Criss' (Blaine) June 15 concert at Irving Plaza in New York City. The two performed a duet of Amy Winehouse's "Valerie" — a song that Naya sang at Regionals during Season 2. Watching this video gets us thinking, though: Blaine and Santana could potentially have a really neat friendship dynamic on Glee in the future ... Blaintana, anyone? http://feeds.wetpaint.com/~r/wetpaint/latest/excerpt/~3/227XFdUDhX8/naya-rivera-and-darren-criss-sing-valerie-at-nyc-concert
