Going Overboard was a low budget film, and the entire movie was filmed during a cruise going to the Miss Universe Pageant. The movie could be considered tongue-in-cheek as much of the humour is derived from the intentional tackiness of the film, such as when Adam Sandler's character states that the film "isn't a low-budget movie, but a no-budget movie!" The film could be considered a B-movie. |||| Two years before he joined the cast of Saturday Night Live, Adam Sandler starred in this comedy as Shecky Moskowitz, who wants to get a job as a comedian on a cruise ship, but when that job is taken, signs on as a waiter instead, hoping fate will lend a hand. The cast also includes Burt Young, Peter Berg, Billy Zane, and a then-unknown Billy Bob Thornton.
