Who Died In The 'Grey's Anatomy' Plane Crash?

Fans of " Grey's Anatomy " (Thu., 9 p.m. ET on ABC) have become used to the regular season-ending cliffhangers, and Thursday night's Season 8 penultimate episode was no exception. Most of the main characters were flying to Boise, Idaho when their plane crashed. With bodies strewn on the ground viewers were left not knowing who may have survived the impact. Back in April 2012 "Grey's Anatomy" creator Shonda Rhimes told The Hollywood Reporter that one of the main characters would die in the Season 8 Finale : "We're not talking [about] some guest star [who] is going to come in and die kind of thing," she said. "It's a a big death and it's fairly shocking." Find out who didn't survive the plane crash on the "Grey's Anatomy" Season 8 Finale, which airs Thursday, May 17th at 9 p.m. ET on ABC. TV Replay scours the vast television landscape to find the most interesting, amusing, and, on a good day, amazing moments, and delivers them right to your browser.

Luckily, most of our favorites have been confirmed to return. In addition to Pompeo and Dempsey, we can expect to see fan favorites Sandra Oh, Justin Chambers, James Pickens, Jr. and Chandra Wilson returning. All of the cast members have re-signed for two more seasons, at the end of which they'll have another renegotiation, should the show live on past Season 10.And yes, fans, though ABC has yet to formally announce their pickup of Season 9 -- their big Upfront presentation is next week in New York -- this definitely secures "Grey's" a place on their fall schedule. The news was...
