Griffin Dunne Wiki

Type: Person

Genres/Tags:

Dunne was born in New York, New York, the son of Ellen Beatriz (née Griffin), who founded the victims' rights organization Justice for Homicide Victims, and Dominick Dunne, a producer, writer, and actor.[1][2] He is the brother of deceased actress Dominique Dunne and the nephew of the late John Gregory Dunne and Joan Didion. Dunne was married (1989) and divorced (1995) from the American actress Carey Lowell, with whom he has one daughter, named Hannah Dunne.

More Info

Dunne starred in My Girl (1991) as Jake Bixler, Johnny Dangerously (1987) as Tommy Kelly, Who's That Girl (1987) as Loudon Trott, After Hours (1985) as Paul Hackett, and An American Werewolf in London (1981) as Jack Goodman. In American Werewolf, Dunne's character is savaged by a werewolf, who leaves him undead, while his friend gradually turns into the titular monster. Dunne's turn is macabrely humorous as he returns throughout the film in the company of Kessler's other progressively more putrid victims to implore David to kill himself before he turns into a full-fledged monster.

As of 2004, he has appeared in nearly 40 films and TV movies, starting with The Other Side of the Mountain in 1975. He has produced and/or directed more than 10 other features and has made numerous TV appearances, including Frasier, Saturday Night Live, Alias and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
