A hard-living superhero (Smith) who has fallen out of favor with the public enters into a questionable relationship with the wife (Theron) of the public relations professional (Bateman) who's trying to repair his image. This superhero is bulletproof, has enormous strength, and flying abilities. But he is also very sarcastic and an alcoholic. Meanwhile the city is in chaos... What will happen next...? The project has had various directors attached, including Tony Scott, Michael Mann, Jonathan Mostow, and Gabriele Muccino. Hancock was originally intended to be filmed before another Smith starrer, I Am Legend. Under Berg, Hancock was filmed in Los Angeles. The film is slated for release on July 2, 2008.
