The album debuted at #1 on the U.S. Billboard 200,[2] where it remained in its second week[3] before falling from the top position. Eight songs have charted on the Billboard Hot 100, including "The Best of Both Worlds" and "Who Said", which have both peaked at #2, and "If We Were A Movie" (peaking at #1). The Soundtrack has 2 Discs in the Limited Edition version. The first disc is an Audio disc with 13 songs with a new bonus track, sit song "Nobody's Perfect" by Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana), and the second disc is a DVD containing 5 music videos used in the show from January 15, 2006.

The Special Edition soundtrack was released on March 20, 2007. The soundtrack to the second season, Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus was released on June 26th, 2007. Volume 2 will have 2 discs, one with songs by Miley's character, Hannah Montana, and one with songs by Miley Cyrus as herself. It will serve as Cyrus' debut album and Hannah Montana's season 2 soundtrack.
