One day, Horton the elephant (Jim Carrey) hears a cry for help coming from a speck of dust. Even though he can't see anyone on the speck, he decides to help it. As it turns out, the speck of dust is home to the Whos, who live in their city of Whoville. Horton agrees to help protect the Whos and their home, but this gives him nothing but torment from his neighbors, who refuse to believe that anything could survive on the speck, and one of them, Sour Kangaroo (Carol Burnett), is determined to destroy it, going to lengths of asking a vulture hitman and a group of evil monkeys to carry out her dirty work. Still, Horton stands by the motto that, "After all, a person is a person, no matter how small." The film also features the voices of Carol Burnett, Josh Flitter, Dan Fogler, Joey King, Jesse McCartney, Seth Rogen, Will Arnett, Isla Fisher, Dane Cook, Kira Vincent Davis, Jamie Pressly, Jonah Hill, Amy Poehler and Niecy Nash. It was directed by Jimmy Hayward and Steve Martino based on a screenplay written by Ken Daurio and Cinco Paul. Produced by Bob Gordon, Audrey Geisel, Christopher Meledandri and Chris Wedge. Christian Kaplan was the casting director and music was provided by John Powell.
