HIMYM Will Do an Episode in Rhyme

This season of How I Met Your Mother has been kind of a disaster, between Marshall's terribly unfunny road trip away from the rest of the cast, Ted's terrible attitude about single women, Robin's over-the-top hatred of Barney's mom, and the general intra-friend-group nastiness. But maybe this will help: Cobie Smulders tells E! that one of the upcoming episodes is all in verse. "It's like every second line is a rhyme. It varies," Smulders says. "The writers just nailed it. It's so fun and they just made it so funny, but so lyrical at the same time." Hey, something weird and creative! This is the most promising HIMYM news in ages.   http://www.vulture.com/2013/11/himym-will-do-an-episode-in-rhyme.html

'How I Met Your ... Father'? 'HIMYM' spinoff talks are apparently getting serious

Reports of a "How I Met Your Mother" spinoff have been kicking around for a couple of months, but it has mostly been vague talk about extending the franchise after the show ends in 2014. Now, though, the idea has apparently taken root at CBS.The network and "HIMYM" producer 20th Century Fox TV are talking about a possible spinoff that's currently going by the title "How I Met Your Father," Deadline reports. "HIMYM" creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas would executive produce along with Emily Spivey ("Up All Night"), who has a deal at the studio. The new show would follow a new group of friends but focus on a female lead and her search for the right guy. The idea is to introduce the new characters in McLaren's Pub -- the "HIMYM" gang's long-time hangout -- and follow them from there. Other than the location, there would be no on-screen link to the current show... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/10/how-i-met-your-father-himym-spinoff-talks-are-apparently-getting-serious.html
