Uh oh! How I Met Your Mother is looking for an "Anderson Cooper type" to play Robin's new co-anchor and this doesn't sound good for Barney. Will this break up our favorite couple? Not necessarily but Barney and Robin's relationship isn't exactly fool proof either. According to TV Guide, "Robin has a taste for the silver fox and he thinks it's hot that Scherbatsky is a fan of cigars." Some of the show's most hilariously moments involve Robin and her work as a news reporter so adding a new co-anchor will certainly provide more material for the writers to toy with and spice up Barney and Robin's love life as well. It's too soon to tell if a third party could actually come between Robin and Barney at this point but maybe this is just the show's way of igniting Barney's jealousy, which is something viewers rarely see on How I Met Your Mother unless it involves Robin. On the other hand, if Barney and Robin do break up, it wouldn't be the worse thing in the world. While most fans have gotten a good kick out of the Barney-Robin hookup, some still believe that Barney and Robin are better off when they're not in an official relationship. After all, they are so meant to be with each other that it's only a matter of time before they hookup again. Source Here

Lily's extended family will be exposed more on " How I Met Your Mother ". After casting Chris Elliott to be her estranged father, the show signed " Gilmore Girls " actress Marion Ross to be her grandmother. TV Guide said that the character named Rita will appear in November 23 episode titled "Maple Swirls" which celebrates the Turkey Day. Lily and her friends visit her grandparents who have been plagued by Elliott's Mickey aka their son. Rita and her husband are hosting a Thanksgiving dinner. There is still no word on who will be the grandfather. On another news, TV Guide also reported that Barney will have a competition later this season. Robin is set to have a new co-anchor on her early morning show, "Come On, New York, Get Up" and he, whose name is Don, will catch her attention. Meanwhile, in November 2 episode Barney will have a dream sequence of kissing Lily when he wonders what if he is her husband instead of Marshall. Called "Bagpipes", the episode follows Barney as he seeks a relationship advice from Lily and Marshall. Source Here

Two more names are mentioned as the special guest stars coming to " How I Met Your Mother " this season. Apart from hiring " Project Runway " mentor Tim Gunn for the 100th episode, the show is also tapping musician Kenny Rogers to show up in the October 19 episode. Gunn, true to his real job, will be a personal tailor and fashion consultant for Barney who is trying to fix a "major league 'Suit Catastrophe' ". Craig Thomas, co-creator of the series told Chicago Tribune, "Tim is basically like Barney's ER physician for a serious suit emergency." Barney in fact is a character in the comedy show who takes suits very seriously. Last week, it was confirmed that Rachel Bilson is also making a cameo in the special episode. Thomas commented, "We're really excited to have Tim on the show, and, with Rachel Bilson cast as a Ted love interest and a huge musical number to boot, it's gonna make Episode 100 even more fun and special." Rogers' stint meanwhile has been confirmed by CBS. In the episode called "Dual Citizenship", Ted and Marshall take a road trip to Chicago to relive a cherished college memory. However, their plan hits a big obstacle when Lily tags along. This, according to IGN, leads to a tear-jerking moment involving Rogers' performance. Source Here

Might you be looking at How I Met Your Mother 's mother? Doubtful, but actress Rachel Bilson, has been cast in the 100th episode of HIMYM - one in which fans have been promised by the show's executive producers "lots of mother action". Furthermore, we've been informed that in this episode "It'll be the closest Ted's ever come to [discovering who she is]. He's getting a step closer every episode this season, and episode 100 [we] kind of go bananas with it." What role do you think Bilson will be playing? We're thinking not the mother, but perhaps some relation to her? Source
How I Met Your Mother turns 100 episodes old this January, and it's marking the occasion by handing fans the mother of all gifts: some major intel about the show's titular mama. There is some serious Mother action in episode 100, reveals executive producer Craig Thomas. It'll be the closest Ted's ever come to [discovering who she is]. He's getting a step closer every episode this season, and episode 100 [we] kind of go bananas with it. Although Thomas won't outright confirm that Ted's future wife will be unmasked, he hints that he and fellow exec producer Carter Bays are spending a lot of time trying to cast the female role in Ted's story for episode 100. And if that's not enough to keep viewers entertained, the milestone episode will climax with what Thomas calls a big-ass musical number headlined by the show's resident song-and-dance man, Neil Patrick Harris. There will be a huge Barney story culminating in an enormous musical number that we're going to spend way too much of Twentieth Television's money on, Thomas says with a laugh. Fans of Neil's performance at the Emmys will enjoy the ending of the episode. It's not a musical episode, but all of a sudden it becomes one. It'll probably be one of the craziest things we've ever done on the show. If I didn't know better, I'd say episode 100 is going to be- legen... wait for it... dary! Source
