'How I Met Your Mother' Season 7 First Look

It seems Barney Stinson has taken to basic cable reality shows for inspiration in picking up women, if the first trailer for 'How I Met Your Mother' Season 7 is to be believed. How else could you explain the ultra-long fingernails seemed to be taken directly from some sort of weird obsession show? Aside from that failed attempt at getting a date, we see Barney and Ted bonding before the wedding, Barney and Robin dancing, and Lily being really enthusiastic about something. Take a look below!

'How I Met Your Mother' Season 7 premiere pics: Robin and Barney get close in 'The Best Man'

It looks like the seventh season of "How I Met Your Mother" kicks off with a wedding, but not the one you're probably thinking of. Ted's (Josh Radnor) childhood best friend and last season's wedding red herring, Punchy (Chris Romanski), finally ties the knot in the Sept. 19 premiere, "The Best Man." And while we're not sure why the entire gang makes it to the apparently Halloween-themed nuptials, it matters little. Just check out how close Robin (Cobie Smulders) and Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) are looking on the dance floor. As you remember, Season 6 ended with a flash forward to Barney's wedding and a great deal of uncertainty as to the identity of the bride. Robin apparently toys with coming clean about her renewed affections for her ex in the season premiere, but given Season 7's apparent status as Robin-heavy, we're thinking she'll probably stew over those feelings for a little longer. As for...

Kermit the Frog makes 'How I Met Your Mother' star Jason Segal cry

Jason Segel isn't just starring in "The Muppets" (set for release Nov. 23). He's also a co-writer, having written the script with his "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" partner Nick Stoller. While "The Muppets" isn't likely to have nude scenes and wild cards like Russell Brand, putting the script together was a logistical nightmare, according to Segel. "It was oddly a lot more complicated than I thought," Segel said in an interview during the CBS after-party during the TCAs. "All of a sudden, you realize when you write a scene like, 'The Muppets run away from the building,' the set has to be elevated and there's puppeteers operating all four limbs. It's as creative as you want it to be in your brain." But writing for puppets may not have been the most gut-wrenching part of the job for the "How I Met Your Mother" star. "I cried the first time Kermit said a line I'd written," he said. "It's not even "awww" worthy. It just happened. I'd been writing the script for about four years, literally since 'Sarah Marshall.' We did a table reading, and they'd brought the puppets for the first time. We're all just sitting at the table, and all of a sudden they brought out Kermit and he said the first line that I had written. And I just lost my shit a little bit. I started crying at the table read and I had to awkwardly ask them to stop filming. It was emotional. He's been my favorite since I was a little kid." Despite the tears, Segel added, "It was a good day." Read More...
