'How I Met Your Mother' Season 8: 6 things you should know about 'Farhampton'

"How I Met Your Mother" begins its eighth (and final?) season Monday night (Sept. 24) with yet another trip "a little ways down the road" to Barney and Robin's wedding day -- but also a pretty meaty story in the present. Here are a few things to watch out for when the CBS comedy heads to "Farhampton."Don't get too pumped for the RoBarn nuptials. If you've watched the preview clips of Robin's (Cobie Smulders) and Barney's (Neil Patrick Harris) respective pre-wedding jitters, you've seen most of what the episode has to offer re: the big day. It's still a bigger look than we've received in the past, though. Ted and Victoria, together again. Aside from the flash-forward, the show picks up pretty much where Season 7 ended, particularly with regard to Ted (Josh Radnor) and Victoria (Ashley Williams), who left her fiance at the altar on her wedding day. Radnor and Williams continue to have...

Neil Patrick Harris also believes 'How I Met Your Mother' is ending

Neil Patrick Harris is joining his "How I Met Your Mother" bosses in saying that the show's coming season will probably be the last one."Our contracts end at [Season] 8, so it's one of those, you know, if they want to do 9, they're welcome to, but we have a lot of other things [happening]," Harris tells His comments echo those of "HIMYM" creators Craig Thomas and Carter Bays, who told reporters Tuesday (Sept. 18) that barring an 11th-hour breakthrough in contract talks, Season 8 will probably be it for the show. They also said they wouldn't want to do a ninth year without the full cast.Harris acknowledges that money is a factor."The only way I think a Season 9 or any longer would happen would be [if it were] financially right -- that's the reality of it," Harris says. "We love the show, we love doing it -- eight years is a long...

'How I Met Your Mother' bosses say Season 8 is likely the end (maybe)

Nothing's official, "How I Met Your Mother" fans, but expect this season of "HIMYM" to be its last. Creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas say that although they've got a contingency plan in store should a Season 9 shake out, they're approaching "HIMYM" Season 8 as the final chapter. "We're writing this season like it's the end," Thomas tells Zap2it and other TV reporters at a special early screening of the Season 8 premiere, which airs Monday, Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. on CBS. "We sort of have a Plan A and a Plan B going [should Season 9 happen], but we're approaching the point where those two things would diverge."RELATED: What to expect from the Fall 2012's returning shows The decision has to happen soon, because the Season 8 storyline depends on it, says Bays. "It gets more and more difficult as it goes on. Ultimately it's going to be more and more...

Joe Lo Truglio to Play the Boss on How I Met Your Mother

How I Met Your Mother will answer a variation on the classic question this fall: Who's the other boss? According to TV Guide, Joe Lo Truglio ( Reno 911! ) has been cast as the founding partner of Marshall's law firm, Honeywell and Cootes. He'll appear in at least two November Sweeps episodes and take part in the multi-billion dollar trial referenced last season (for which Martin Short's Cootes accepted a $24,000 settlement). Joe Manganiello will also reprise his role as Marshall's pal Brad and appear in these same episodes. How I Met Your Mother Season 8 premieres Monday at 8/7c on CBS.
