Ex-Smallville shutterbug Aaron Ashmore has landed a recurring role on USA Network's In Plain Sight, sources confirm to me exclusively. The erstwhile Jimmy Olsen will play the smart yet rough-around-the-edges long-lost half brother to Mary (Mary McCormack) and Brandi (Nichole Hiltz). He attempts to reconnect with his sibs and discuss their shared father. Ashmore will debut during the latter half of Sight's current third season. Source Here
In Plain Sight star Mary McCormack has rebuffed rumors that the new season of the USA series, which kicked off two weeks ago, will focus less on the side characters, particularly her crazy non-traditional mother Jinx (Lesley Ann Warren). "I don't think the balance of the show has changed," she said in a conference call. "Lesley Ann is in it quite a bit. I think maybe her contract changed a little, but I think she's in it the same amount or maybe a teeny bit less. But certainly, Nichole Hiltz is in it just as much and her boyfriend, who's played by Josh Malina, and my boyfriend is Cristian de la Fuente." That said, she answered the common question about the romance between Mary and Fred Weller's Marshall the vaguest way possible: "We never know." For his part, Weller, who plays Mary's partner slash best friend, has admitted in the past that Marshall has romantic feelings for his partner, and its realization is unavoidable. * Criminal Minds (9/8c CBS) Academy Award-winning actor Forest Whitaker, who had a recurring role in the series The Shield, returns to television - and the world of crime - in this episode. Hotch and the team meet Whitaker's Sam Cooper when they investigate the murders of homeless men in San Francisco, where they work with a separate BAU group whose current case could be connected to the deaths. * American Idol (9/8c Fox) The Idol magical mystery tour continued last night when the Top 9 contestants came down with a severe case of Beatlemania. Without the singing services of the supersensitive Didi Benami - who was bumped last week - our lords of the sing took on the iconic songbook of Beatles gurus John Lennon and Paul McCartney. But a dark cloud now materializes: After this results show, only eight will have a ticket to ride and one contestant will be ousted. That person will just have to let it be. Also letting it be is songstress Rihanna, who performs the song "Te Amo." * Top Chef Masters (11/10c Bravo ) Bravo serves up a heaping new season of this tasty reality show, which tracks professional chefs as they compete for a cool $100,000 to be given to a charity of their choice. It all gets steamy in the Season 2 opener when meal masters Ana Sortun, Govind Armstrong, Jerry Traunfeld, Jimmy Bradley, Susan Feniger and Tony Mantuano craft aphrodisiacal dinners for romantic first dates. If successful, their meals will put a twinkle in the eye. Oysters, anyone? Gail Simmons, famed of Top Chef, joins the judges' table this season. * Being Erica (10/9c SOAPnet) This dramedy wraps up its second season with Erica making choices that affect two big parts of her life: her love life and her career. On the romantic front, Erica weighs the comfort of staying with Ethan against the new adventure of starting something with Kai. As for her job, Erica considers making a bold career move. To help her with all of these possibly life-changing choices, Dr. Tom throws a new twist into her therapy. * In Plain Sight (10/9c USA Network ) It's flashback time for Mary and Marshall after the first witness the pair handled together is put into danger by a break-in. The look into the past shows the dynamic duo's first meeting, which wasn't exactly picture-perfect due to a much-different Mary and her dismissal of Marshall's role in WITSEC. Allison Janney guest stars. Source Here
* In Plain Sight (10/9c USA Network ) The third-season premiere proves that there's no rest for the weary, especially for Mary Shannon. After being released from the hospital with a fresh battle wound, Mary jumps right back into work, keeping an eye on a Boston thief who's trying to stay on the straight-and-narrow for the sake of his son. But she and Marshall also have something else on their to-do lists: hunting down the man who shot Mary. Donnie Wahlberg guest-stars. * American Idol (9/8c Fox) Last night's performance showcase ushered in yet another musical theme, with soul and R&B being the rules of the day and R&B guru Usher (who performs tonight) serving as musical mentor. The remaining singers are hitting happy high notes knowing they've now secured a special slot on the Idol summer tour, but one of them will soon be singing the blues. In this results installment, one finalist will join the already dearly departed Lacey Brown and Paige Miles in the ousted category. * It's the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown (8/7c ABC) Roll over, Great Pumpkin. Linus has a new holiday savior, and he's none other than an egg-bearing canine in this adorable, Emmy-nominated treat from 1974. While definitely not as memorable as the Christmas or Halloween specials, there is a certain spring in the spring outing's step, and Snoopy's birdhouse-shopping sequences are a must-see for any self-respecting Woodstock fan. * Real World (10/9c MTV ) Another season of the perennial reality show wraps up as the seven remaining roomies pack their bags and go back to where they came from. At the end of the finale, you may be wondering what's happened since the cameras stopped rolling. Are Mike and Tanner still together? Did Josh ever learn to sing? Is Erika still incredibly annoying? Find out the answers to those questions and more in the reunion that follows at 11/10c. * America's Next Top Model (8/7c The CW ) Last week Brenda barely avoided elimination because - at 23 - she photographs old! That's the kiss of death on Top Model. Tonight, in an attempt to make her look younger, she gets a new punk haircut. It definitely makes her look more youthful, and it should help her at the bloody photo shoot as the girls pose as vampires. There's also a nasty shouting match between Alasia and Anslee that starts out innocently enough over a refrigerated item and turns into a finger-pointing, expletive-spewing showdown. Source Here
