Jekyll is a BBC television drama serial inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson's novel The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Though not a literal adaptation of the original story, it has the same theme and embodies and parallels many incidents and names related in the novel. For instance in episode one, 'Hyde' tramples on a young man, echoing a similar scene in the original book where Hyde tramples on a girl. In a somewhat postmodern fashion, Stevenson's book itself features as part of the backstory.
