Joseph Maxwell "Joe" Dempsie (born June 22, 1987 in Nottingham, England) is an English actor best known for playing the role of Chris in the E4 television show Skins, although his character has since passed away in the series.
Dempsie has a younger sister named Lauren, who suffers from cerebral palsy.
Dempsie's earlier acting credits include the medical dramas Doctors, Peak Practice and Sweet Medicine, as well as the films One for the Road and Heartlands. He also appeared in Born and Bred and a BBC documentary-drama about Norfolk farmer, Tony Martin.
He received his acting training from the Central Junior Television Workshop, Nottingham. Dempsie was also educated at The West Bridgford School in Nottingham. He is a keen Nottingham Forest fan.
He is now the voice of the Clearasil adverts in the UK.
His girlfriend is his co-star in Skins, Hannah Murray, who plays Cassie.
He will be playing a part in Doctor Who series four; his characters name is Klien, a soldier who watches all of his comrades eventually killed by aliens.
